In the latest update in the saga, Tammy finally sees\u00a0the results of her eight-hour excess skin removal surgery<\/a>\u00a0– which removed 15 pounds of the excess skin.<\/p>\n In the new season finale, which aired earlier this week (10 June),\u00a0Tammy<\/a>\u00a0could be seen in her hospital bed after the post-op as someone brings over a mirror so she can see her new look.<\/p>\n When she saw her face for the first time, speechless, the\u00a01000-lb Sisters<\/em><\/a>\u00a0star simply reacted with a very taken aback: “Boy…”<\/p>\n Later, in a confessional, she said: “I\u2019m shocked. Like, I feel so weird. I don\u2019t have my hanging b******* off my face.<\/p>\n “My bat wings are gone too. And I look down and there\u2019s not nothing there but my lap now. It\u2019s gonna take a little while for me to get used to seeing myself like this.”<\/p>\n Fans seemingly also had the exact same reaction too, rushing to\u00a0social media<\/a>\u00a0to gush over just how proud they were of Tammy for pulling through.<\/p>\n Fans rushed in to share their praise over Tammy Slaton’s incredible transformation following her excess skin removal surgery (TLC)<\/cite><\/div>\n Amid the avalanche of praise she’s received, Tammy\u00a0opened up<\/a>\u00a0to PEOPLE about what was going on in her head ahead of the life-changing surgery – confessing that she was more nervous about her skin removal, which took place earlier this year (18 January) than she was about undergoing\u00a0bariatric surgery<\/a>.<\/p>\n “After six years and losing over 500 pounds, I was finally approved for surgery,” she explained. “I was just overwhelmed with excitement. I worked really hard for this, and now it’s here.<\/p>\n “I’m pretty sure it was noticeable on my face how immediately shocked and then overwhelmed with joy I was.”<\/p>\n Opening up a little further about the situation, Tammy continued: “I was really nervous for the skin removal surgery because I was really just kind of afraid of how I’m gonna feel looking at myself without the belly there.<\/p>\n Tammy before and after her 500-lbs weight loss transformation (TLC)<\/cite><\/div>\n “The night before my surgery, I was, like, seriously freaking terrified. I was even more nervous about having skin removal surgery than I was for the [sleeve gastrectomy] surgery because they\u2019re actually cutting the whole belly!”<\/p>\n Following the successful surgery, which took a staggering eight hours, Tammy celebrated with\u00a0her siblings<\/a>\u00a0– Amy, Amanda, Misty and Chris – upon finally returning home where she revealed the one thing that surprised doctors after her skin removal transformation.<\/p>\n “I surprised the doctors with how well my body was healing. I ended up coming home from Pittsburgh, like, four days early,” she told the outlet.<\/p>\n Tammy had initially struggled to get approved for the procedure due to her\u00a0vaping<\/a>\u00a0habit. This is because nicotine can delay healing and increase the risk of infection.<\/p>\n Sadly, Tammy\u2019s joy around the results of her op have been slightly overshadowed by people accusing her of still vaping.<\/p>\n It began after a\u00a0clip of Tammy<\/a>\u00a0at a meet and greet posted on\u00a0TikTok<\/a>\u00a0began doing the rounds online, where she was seen using what looked like a vape.<\/p>\n Tammy later clarified that the vape was nicotine-free in a post on Instagram on Wednesday (11 June).<\/p>\n She wrote: “Everyone freaking out about me vaping, it\u2019s non nicotine.”<\/p>\n “I haven\u2019t smoked nicotine in a year smh.
