It\u2019s almost been one whole month since Pope Leo XIV was elected as the new Bishop of Rome and the 69-year-old pontiff has already garnered attention for multiple reasons.<\/p>\n

From being the first ever American pope and speaking in English during mass to showing off his\u00a0basebell-level catching skills\u00a0<\/a>during a recent parade, Pope Francis\u2019 successor has already had some iconic moments.<\/p>\n

And now, people think he is purposefully trolling\u00a0Donald Trump<\/a>\u00a0with his latest move.<\/p>\n

Pope Leo<\/a>\u00a0is set to hold a mass in Chicago on June 14 to \u2018offer a special video message to the young people of the world,\u2019 ABC7 Chicago\u00a0reported<\/a>\u00a0on Thursday.<\/p>\n

Marking the Pope\u2019s first public greeting to the city since his election, it\u2019s bound to draw a huge crowd. It will be led by Cardinal Blase J. Cupich, and premiere the Pope’s video message.<\/p>\n

On top of that, the event is set to take place at Rate Field, which is the home of the\u00a0Chicago White Sox,<\/a>\u00a0the baseball team the Pope openly supports.<\/p>\n

The day has been described as a ‘once-in-a-lifetime celebration of the election of the first Chicago-born Pope’ and is being organised by the Archdiocese of Chicago<\/p>\n

But there\u2019s one issue – the celebration is conveniently set to take place on the American president\u2019s birthday.<\/p>\n

While the Pope\u2019s event is going on, over in Washington, D.C., a multi-million dollar parade will be kicking off.<\/p>\n

While it\u2019s not technically for Trump\u2019s 79th birthday, but instead to celebrate the country\u2019s military, it does fall on the same day.<\/p>\n

According to Reuters, the eye-watering cost for the bash is around the $45 million mark.<\/p>\n

The White House said in a statement that the parade, while being on Trump\u2019s big day, is to celebrate the \u2018greatest military in the world\u2019.<\/p>\n

The statement read: \u201cThere is no event grand enough to adequately capture our gratitude for the millions of heroes who laid down their lives defending our freedom, but this parade will be a fitting tribute to the service, sacrifice, and selflessness of all who have worn the uniform.”<\/p>\n

But, with both huge events penciled in for the same day, a social media discourse has sparked on whether it was deliberate.<\/p>\n

One user made the bold claim that the Pope could be trying to \u2018embarrass Trump,\u2019 writing on\u00a0X<\/a>: \u201cIs the Pope trying to embarrass?<\/p>\n

\u201cPope Leo will be celebrating a mass in Chicago on the same day as Trump\u2019s birthday military parade.\u201d<\/p>\n

They added: \u201cThe Chicago crowd is estimated to top 1 million people… far larger than the expectations for the parade. Your thoughts?\u201d<\/p>\n

Another wrote: \u201cPope Leo will be addressing the youth virtually while organising a huge Mass in Chicago.. on Trump\u2019s birthday, right during the parade.\u201d<\/p>\n

And a third added: \u201cPope Leo scheduled his Chicago appearance for the exact same time as Trump\u2019s military parade. That\u2019s some top-tier trolling.\u201d<\/p>\n

Others simply wrote: \u201cWhat a timing!\u201d and \u201cThe pope is so good with these kinds of special trolling.\u201d<\/p>\n

Meanwhile, someone else pointed out that the Pope didn\u2019t actually decide the date himself for the Chicago event.<\/p>\n
