A heartbroken mum who\u2019s hoping to preserve her 13-year-old son\u2019s body after he died by suicide has been given a deadline if she wants to go ahead.<\/p>\n

Australian\u00a0<\/a>actress Clare McCann, who is best known for her breakout role as ‘Cherry’ on the popular\u00a0TV<\/a>\u00a0series\u00a0Blog Party,\u00a0<\/em>shared the tragic news that Atreyu had passed away in a\u00a0social media\u00a0<\/a>post last week.<\/p>\n

In a touching tribute, she penned that the passing of her teenage son was her ‘worst nightmare’, as she issued a desperate plea.<\/p>\n

Clare revealed that she wants to raise six figures\u00a0in a bid to have her son’s body cryogenically frozen<\/a>\u00a0so that one day he might be brought back to life by\u00a0scientific<\/a>\u00a0advances.<\/p>\n

However, the short time window she has to both raise AU$300,000 and freeze her son\u2019s body is now less than 48 hours.<\/p>\n

When the actress initially shared the fundraiser, she explained: \u201cWe only have one chance left to cryogenically preserve his body within the next seven days.<\/p>\n

\u201cIf we miss this window, we lose the chance for any future revival that science may offer. This is about hope and justice. Refusing to let my son’s story end in silence.\u201d<\/p>\n

It’s a race against the clock, and Clare is aware she needs to raise the cash quickly if she wants to go ahead with the practice.<\/p>\n

She emotionally\u00a0told\u00a0<\/a>news.com.au: \u201cI\u2019ve been sitting there with him in the morgue just kissing him.<\/p>\n

\u201cRealistically from Thursday I know I should be putting him in a fully synthetic sleeping bag and putting ice packs surrounding him at the minimum to have any kind of chance but I just don\u2019t want to disturb him if this is all for nothing.\u201d<\/p>\n

At the time of writing, the GoFundMe page sits at $13,355, which means there could still a while to go before Clare hits the $300,000 mark.<\/p>\n

Announcing her son\u2019s passing last week, Clare penned in the caption of a collection of photos: “It’s with shattered hearts that we share the passing of my beautiful son, Atreyu McCann.<\/p>\n

The 32-year-old went on to add: “Right now, we are grieving a loss that words can’t hold.<\/p>\n

“Please give us time and space as we process this unimaginable pain. Thank you to everyone who has supported and loved Atreyu. We’ll share more when we’re ready.<\/p>\n

“For now, please hold him in your hearts.”<\/p>\n

Clare also revealed that Atreyu had been subject to \u2018months of relentless bullying’ at school.<\/p>\n

In a statement shared on Monday, the mother wrote: \u201cThis was not his fault. He was let down by the schooling system as he suffered horrendous amounts of bullying.<\/p>\n
