The hearing, where Health and Human Services Secretary\u00a0Robert F. Kennedy Jr.<\/a>\u00a0was testifying, was disrupted by several demonstrators advocating against U.S. military aid to Israel and calling attention to the humanitarian crisis in Gaza.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

According to U.S. Capitol Police, Mr. Cohen was\u00a0charged with<\/a>\u00a0“crowding, obstructing or incommoding,” a misdemeanor charge often applied in civil disobedience cases in the U.S. capital.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

Alongside him, six other individuals were\u00a0taken into custody<\/a>\u00a0and now face more serious allegations, including assaulting a police officer and resisting arrest.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

Footage\u00a0shared<\/a>\u00a0on Cohen’s X account showed him being led out of the building by police with his hands zip-tied behind his back.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

As he was being escorted, an unidentified female reporter\u00a0asked<\/a>, “Ben, what are you calling for the Congress and senators to do for Gaza?” Cohen\u00a0responded<\/a>, “Congress and the senators need to ease the siege. They need to let food into Gaza. They need to let food to starving kids.”<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

In the same video, he also\u00a0stated<\/a>, “Congress kills poor kids in Gaza by buying bombs, and pays for it by kicking kids off Medicaid in the US.” He made these comments\u00a0after being asked<\/a>\u00a0why he was “getting arrested.”<\/p>\n<\/div>\n
