Olympic gold medalist Kyle Snyder has been arrested as part of a prostitution sting in Columbus.<\/strong><\/p>\n

The arrest took place last week after Snyder allegedly responded to a fake interest ad created by local police and then used responses to set up potential arrests.<\/p>\n

He was one of 16 men charged during the sting after police led an uncover operation to crackdown on prostitution in the city.<\/p>\n

Snyder is alleged to have set up a date with an undercover agent before offering to pay for oral sex, having arrived at the hotel 30 minutes after arranging the meet-up.<\/p>\n

The 29-year-old was then ‘arrested for engaging in prostitution by uniformed officers inside the hotel room’, cops told\u00a0TMZ<\/a>\u00a0in a statement.<\/p>\n

It added: “He was issued a summons to appear in court on May 19 and was released from the scene.”<\/p>\n

Columbus Police Sargent Joe Albert revealed the arrest to reporters on Monday, explaining that Snyder was among 16 men arrested as part of the sting.<\/p>\n

He is regarded as one of the most decorated wrestlers in recent American history.<\/p>\n

Snyder is the youngest wrestler to win the world, NCAA and\u00a0Olympic<\/a>\u00a0championships in the same year.<\/p>\n

He captured gold at the 2016 Olympics and secured a silver medal at the 2020 Olympics before coming short of claiming a third medal at the 2024 Olympics.<\/p>\n

He is also a seven-time medalist at the World Championships of wrestling and a three-time National Champion after wrestling at Ohio State University.<\/p>\n

The US wrestler, born in Maryland, was inducted into the Ohio State Athletics Hall of Fame last year after winning three national championships at Ohio State.<\/p>\n

Snyder, who once served on Donald Trump’s Council on Sports, Fitness and Nutrition, had just signed to participate in the new Real American Freestyle wrestling promotion that was launched by\u00a0WWE<\/a>\u00a0Hall of Famer\u00a0Hulk Hogan<\/a>\u00a0and former WWE executive Eric Bischoff.<\/p>\n
