Taylor Swift has been subpoenaed as a witness in Blake Lively and Justin Baldoni\u2019s ongoing legal battle over behind-the-scenes conflict on their movie It Ends with Us.<\/p>\n

A spokesperson for Swift, 35, emphasized the singer has had no close connection to the film other than her song \u201cMy Tears Ricochet\u201d being used, and that the subpoena is to create \u201ctabloid clickbait.\u201d<\/p>\n
\u201cTaylor Swift never set foot on the set of this movie, she was not involved in any casting or creative decisions, she did not score the film, she never saw an edit or made any notes on the film, she did not even see It Ends With Us until weeks after its public release, and was traveling around the globe during 2023 and 2024 headlining the biggest tour in history,\u201d a rep told PEOPLE.
\nThe connection Taylor had to this film was permitting the use of one song, \u2018My Tears Ricochet.\u2019 Given that her involvement was licensing a song for the film, which 19 other artists also did, this document subpoena is designed to use Taylor Swift\u2019s name to draw public interest by creating tabloid clickbait instead of focusing on the facts of the case,\u201d the spokesperson continued.<\/p>\n
A source recently disclosed to PEOPLE that along with Swift, Hugh Jackman could also be served with a subpoena.<\/p>\n
\u201cAnyone that had any knowledge of this situation will be subpoenaed, no matter of their celebrity status,\u201d the source said.<\/p>\n
However, another insider says Swift and Jackman, 56, are \u201cnot privy to anything going on,\u201d adding that claims they will be subpoenaed are \u201csmoke and mirrors and trying to distract from the allegations against Baldoni.\u201d<\/p>\n
Reynolds, Lively, Jackman (who starred alongside Reynolds in Deadpool & Wolverine) and Swift have been spotted together on numerous occasions, including at NFL games where Swift\u2019s boyfriend Travis Kelce was playing with his team the Kansas City Chiefs. Swift is also the godmother to the couple\u2019s four children: James, 10, Inez, 8, Betty, 5, and Olin, 2.
\nLively first sued her director-costar in December, accusing him of sexual harassment, \u201cdisturbing\u201d and \u201cunprofessional\u201d behavior on set and a retaliatory smear campaign. Baldoni has denied the allegations and, in January, filed a countersuit alleging defamation and extortion against Lively, her husband Ryan Reynolds and their publicity team.<\/p>\n
Among Baldoni\u2019s claims are that Swift and Reynolds, 48, pressured him into accepting one of Lively\u2019s rewrites for screenwriter Christy Hall\u2019s adaptation of Colleen Hoover\u2019s hit novel. In the complaint, the Jane the Virgin alum described an alleged meeting at Lively and Reynolds\u2019 penthouse where Swift \u201cbegan praising Lively\u2019s script. Baldoni understood the subtext: he needed to comply with Lively\u2019s direction.\u201d
\nIn an alleged text exchange following that interaction, Baldoni told Lively that her script changes were \u201cso much more fun and interesting\u201d and that he \u201cwould have felt that way without Ryan and Taylor,\u201d adding a playful emoji. She allegedly responded by comparing herself to Khaleesi from Game of Thrones, calling her husband and Swift her \u201cdragons\u201d and later her \u201cDance Moms level stage moms.\u201d<\/p>\n
Baldoni has also claimed that Reynolds mocked the director in Deadpool & Wolverine via Reynolds\u2019 character \u201cNicepool.\u201d In the Marvel film, the sanitized version of Deadpool says lines such as \u201cWhere in God\u2019s name is the intimacy coordinator?!\u201d and compliments Ladypool (played by Lively) for \u201csnapping back\u201d into shape after giving birth.
