Celebrities get all sorts of odd requests from fans, but Simon Cowell\u2019s has certainly got to be up there as one of the weirdest.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Simon Cowell<\/a>\u00a0has been a big name in the\u00a0music<\/a>\u00a0industry for years and secured legions of fans through his popular talent competition shows, like\u00a0America’s Got Talent<\/em><\/a>\u00a0and\u00a0American Idol,\u00a0<\/em>or if you are truly cultured,\u00a0Far Far Away Idol<\/em>\u00a0on the\u00a0Shrek 2<\/em><\/a>\u00a0<\/em>DVD extras.<\/p>\n

Of course, being famous comes some odd interactions, and in a recent appearance on the\u00a0How to Fail<\/em>\u00a0with Elizabeth Day\u00a0podcast<\/a>, he outlined a few notable instances.<\/p>\n

Cowell built a reputation as being the ‘mean judge’, and he explained that as he became more well known, people would often come up to him in the street and ask him to be ‘rude to them’ – a request he would always turn down.<\/p>\n

He said this request was particularly popular in the\u00a0US<\/a>, but the request for him to watch a pair have\u00a0sex<\/a>\u00a0easily trumps this request.<\/p>\n

Cowell recalled the moment, saying: \u201cI was in a restaurant and this guy comes up to me and he says \u2018love your show, will you take a picture\u2019.<\/p>\n

\u201cI\u2019m like sure, he says this is my wife, I’m like nice to meet you [then he asks] \u2018would you judge us having sex\u2019.<\/p>\n

\u201cI\u2019m like, are you winding me up, he says ‘no, we\u2019ll pay you’.<\/p>\n

\u201cI ask how much and it actually was a lot of money. I thought… do I… no, I just can\u2019t do it.\u201d<\/p>\n

It is very easy to assume that it was just a prank, but if they were serious… that is a lot of money to blow on a very interesting kink.<\/p>\n

The host seemed to know the story and had Simon confirm that he was offered $150,000 to judge the couple and joked he had found his \u2018moral scruple\u2019.<\/p>\n

Simon added that it was all so bizarre, but said he has enjoyed some of the interactions with the public and fans.<\/p>\n

He continued: \u201cThat is something I have really enjoyed, weirdly, is that I am very shy, I can\u2019t go to a pre-party, its my worst thing in the world, making small talk with people I don\u2019t know.<\/p>\n

\u201cIf we have a common subject I am pretty good, but years ago If I had to go to a party and talk to people I didn\u2019t know it is torture.<\/p>\n

\u201cSo once I was known by people it was kind of good because it broke the ice with people you meet, so instantly they know you, you are talking about something I like, which is you know the shows or the artists so it kind of helped me with my shyness.\u201d<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
