Not everyone was loving the celebrations!<\/h2>\n

Last night\u2019s (May 8) VE Day 80 Concert, which featured a range of star-studded performers, left\u00a0BBC<\/a>\u00a0viewers completely divided.<\/p>\n

The huge extravaganza, which was presented by\u00a0Zoe Ball<\/a>, took place at Horse Guards Parade on Thursday evening to honour the 80th anniversary and was attended by 10,000 people and watched by many at home.<\/p>\n

The line-up included many familiar faces, including Masked Singer winner Samantha Barks,\u00a0Fleur East<\/a>\u00a0with the\u00a0Strictly<\/a>\u00a0pro dancers, Calum Scott, and John Newman, to name a few. However, it seems not everyone was a fan.<\/p>\n

VE Day Concert leaves BBC viewers divided<\/h3>\n

\u201cWasn\u2019t that line up awful,\u201d one user wrote on X, adding: \u201cThe Darkness, I always thought they were a comedy band like spinal tap, and rolling out Toploader? I know times were hard but what was the budget \u00a350?\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cI thought the Darkness was an odd (and poor) choice for the\u00a0<\/span>#VEDay80<\/span>\u00a0concert. Then John Newman came on. What on earth is this man doing? Someone take him down. Absolute tripe!\u201d another shared.<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cThis VE Day concert is horrendous. Thought it was supposed to be a celebration. At least they knew how to party 80 years ago,\u201d a third remarked.<\/p>\n

\u201cAm I the only one tonight thinking that the songs and artists were irrelevant for the\u00a0<\/span>#VEDayConcert<\/span>\u00a0on\u00a0<\/span>@BBCOne????\u201d a fourth commented.<\/p>\n

\u201cAm I the only one that\u2019s watching the VE Day 80 celebrations on\u00a0<\/span>@BBCOne\u00a0<\/span>and thinking\u2026meh. Could have, and should have been so much more to honour a momentous ocassion. Some songs and artists so irrelevant,\u201d a fifth stated.<\/p>\n

Line-up aside, some viewers complained about the vocal talent.<\/p>\n

\u201cI\u2019ve never heard such atrocious singing in all my life\u2026flat as [bleep],\u201d one user insisted.<\/p>\n

\u201cI\u2019m sorry but some of these singers are [bleep] poor,\u201d another said.<\/p>\n

\u2018Pure, incontrovertible class\u2019<\/h3>\n

It wasn\u2019t all bad, however. Many people enjoyed the line-up and praised the talent.<\/p>\n

\u201c#freyaridings<\/span>\u00a0and\u00a0<\/span>#samanthabarks<\/span>\u00a0\u2013 pure, incontrovertible class. A far cry from the diarrhoea of\u00a0<\/span>#johnnewman,\u201d one person declared.<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cVictor Ray \u2013 what a voice. Talk about doing justice to an occasion,\u201d another shared.<\/p>\n

\u201cThought the\u00a0<\/span>#VEDayConcert<\/span>\u00a0was excellent,\u201d a third expressed.<\/span><\/p>\n
