Long before Molly-Mae and Tommy Fury, before the separation of Jennifer Lopez and Ben Affleck (again) and the rollercoaster of Megan Fox and Machine Gun Kelly, there was one celebrity break-up that shocked fans globally.<\/p>\n

It\u2019s easily one of Hollywood\u2019s most high-profile splits of all time,\u00a0Jennifer Aniston<\/a>\u00a0and\u00a0Brad Pitt<\/a>, of course.<\/p>\n

The actors started dating in the late 90s, before they tied the knot beachside in July 2000. But in January 2005, they announced their decision to separate, with their\u00a0divorce<\/a>\u00a0finalised in October that year. And while fans were taken aback by this news, Pitt was seen spending\u00a0more and more time<\/a>\u00a0with his\u00a0Mr & Mrs Smith<\/em>\u00a0co-star,\u00a0Angelina Jolie<\/a>.<\/p>\n

This all led to the sale of \u2018Team Aniston\u2019 and \u2018Team Jolie\u2019 t-shirts and a crazy about of media attention.<\/p>\n

\u2018Brangelina\u2019 reportedly fell in love while working on the action film, but he maintained that he did not cheat on his wife.<\/p>\n

That was pretty much the general consensus among fans and the media though, while Aniston said in following interviews that she would \u2018love\u2019 Pitt \u2018for the rest of her life.’<\/p>\n

And in her first interview after the split, Vanity Fair\u00a0asked\u00a0<\/a>if she believed his claims of not cheating, she said: \u201cI choose to believe my husband. At this point, I wouldn\u2019t be surprised by anything, but I would much rather choose to believe him.\u201d<\/p>\n

In January 2006, Jolie confirmed she was pregnant with Pitt\u2019s child and was said to be two months pregnant by the time his divorce with Aniston was finalised.<\/p>\n

They announced their engagement in 2012 and were married in 2014.<\/p>\n

In her interview, while the break-up was still relatively raw and fresh, Aniston explained she had only met Jolie one time and took an opportunity to quickly say hey.<\/p>\n

The\u00a0Friends<\/em><\/a>\u00a0star recalled her last words to Jolie – completely unaware that she would become her exes next partner – before her split from Pitt.<\/p>\n

\u201cIt was on the lot of\u00a0Friends<\/em>\u2014I pulled over and introduced myself,\u201d the star recalled.<\/p>\n

\u201cI said, \u2018Brad is so excited about working with you. I hope you guys have a really good time.\u2019\u201d<\/p>\n

Aniston said she really did believe their marriage was \u2018the real thing\u2019 and puts what went wrong down as \u2018complicated.’<\/p>\n

\u201cI think\u2014it changed,\u201d she added. \u201cWe both changed. You do the best you can, and I think we did. We did the best we could.\u201d<\/p>\n

Jolie later filed for divorce from Pitt in 2016, citing \u2018irreconcilable differences\u2019 and the legal battle went on for years, with the pair only reaching a divorce settlement<\/a>\u00a0at the end of last year, according to her lawyer.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
