After Prince Harry’s latest remarks about his strained relationship with King Charles III, one royal expert believes the monarch’s silence is part of a deliberate and deeply rooted royal strategy.<\/p>\n

Following a significant\u00a0legal loss<\/u><\/a>\u00a0over security provisions in the UK on May 2, the Duke of Sussex shared that Charles has remained unresponsive to his attempts at communication. Royal expert Christopher Andersen believes there’s a clear reason why Charles has yet to engage publicly or privately with his son.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

“It really does look like Charles is taking the ‘Keep Calm and Carry On’ axiom to a whole other level, doesn’t it?”\u00a0noted<\/u><\/a>\u00a0Andersen. The royal expert\u00a0explained<\/u><\/a>, “The King is only hewing to a long-standing royal practice of not dignifying something by commenting on it. The Palace does not want to give oxygen to Harry’s remarks.”<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

Andersen added that\u00a0King Charles III<\/a>\u00a0is dealing with numerous personal and public responsibilities, and engaging in a public dispute with his son offers no benefit. He noted that Harry, on the other hand, has taken the opposite approach, something clearly reflected in his headline-making BBC News interview.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

The royal expert suggested that Harry went public, likely due to the ongoing private silence from the palace. “It must be terribly frustrating for him not to even be able to get through to his father on the phone. There’s a real Catch 22 here: As long as the Palace ignores Harry in the vain hope that he’ll go away, it puts him in the position of having to amp up the volume of his public comments,” he\u00a0speculated<\/u><\/a>.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

Despite the tension, Harry has expressed a\u00a0desire to reconcile<\/u><\/a>\u00a0with the royal family. He emphasized that continuing the conflict serves no purpose. He also referenced Charles’ ongoing battle with cancer, noting the uncertainty surrounding how much time his father may have left.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

Andersen believes Harry may genuinely want reconciliation but sees his approach as counterproductive,\u00a0saying<\/u><\/a>, “If Harry really wants to reconcile with his family, he has an odd way of showing it.”<\/p>\n<\/div>\n
