Donald Trump has announced his intention to re-open a famous US prison, which has an impressive roster of infamous criminals to its name.<\/strong><\/p>\n

On May 4, Trump took to his\u00a0social media<\/a>\u00a0platform, Truth Social, to announce that\u00a0he wanted to ‘rebuild and open’ Alcatraz.<\/a><\/p>\n

He said: \u201cREBUILD, AND OPEN ALCATRAZ! For too long, America has been plagued by vicious, violent, and repeat Criminal Offenders, the dregs of society, who will never contribute anything other than Misery and Suffering.\u201d<\/p>\n

He went on to explain that he would only send serious\u00a0criminals<\/a>\u00a0to Alcatraz, adding: \u201cWhen we were a more serious Nation, in times past, we did not hesitate to lock up the most dangerous criminals, and keep them far away from anyone they could harm. That\u2019s the way it\u2019s supposed to be.<\/p>\n

\u201cNo longer will we tolerate these Serial Offenders who spread filth, bloodshed, and mayhem on our streets.\u201d<\/p>\n

While he didn\u2019t explain when this could happen, he did say that he is \u2018directing the Bureau of Prisons, together with the Department of Justice, FBI, and Homeland Security, to reopen a substantially enlarged and rebuilt ALCATRAZ, to house America\u2019s most ruthless and violent Offenders\u2019 in a bid to \u2018no longer be held hostage to criminals, thugs, and Judges that are afraid to do their job and allow us to remove criminals, who came into our Country illegally\u2019.<\/p>\n
