Prince Harry gave us all something to talk about last Friday when a bombshell interview with the BBC dropped ahead of the weekend.<\/p>\n

The Duke of Sussex\u00a0spoke candidly<\/a>\u00a0about his long-rumoured rift with the\u00a0Royal Family<\/a>, claiming his own father no longer speaks to him because of disagreements over his security entitlement in the UK – the subject of his\u00a0highly publicised legal challenge<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Harry\u00a0told<\/a>\u00a0the outlet that he \u2018misses\u2019 the UK, and feels \u2018really quite sad\u2019 that he won\u2019t be able to show his kids – Archie, five, and Lilibet, three – his home.<\/p>\n

\u201cI can’t see a world in which I would bring my wife and children back to the UK at this point,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n

When\u00a0Harry<\/a>\u00a0and wife\u00a0Meghan<\/a>\u00a0decided to step down as working royals back in 2020, they saw their taxpayer-funded protection downgraded – a move he feels compromises his family\u2019s safety.<\/p>\n

After he lost his appeal last Friday (2 May), he told the BBC that he didn\u2019t want to fight with his family anymore, and now has just one request for them.<\/p>\n

\u201cI would love reconciliation with my family,\u201d Harry said, saying the dispute over security had \u2018always been the sticking point\u2019, but that there had been \u2018so many disagreements\u2019 over the years.<\/p>\n

\u201cThere’s no point continuing to fight any more, life is precious.<\/p>\n

\u201cI don\u2019t know how much longer my father has. You know, he won\u2019t speak to me because of this security stuff. But it would be nice to – it would be nice to reconcile.\u201d<\/p>\n

Harry continued: \u201cBut reconciliation can\u2019t come without truth. Well, I\u2019ve now found out the truth. I\u2019ve shared some of it with you today. A lot of it exists out there, whether people choose to ignore it or not.<\/p>\n

\u201cSo it would be nice to have that reconciliation part now. If they don\u2019t want that, that\u2019s entirely up to them.\u201d<\/p>\n

Elsewhere in the interview, he described his court defeat as a ‘good old fashioned establishment stitch up’, while blaming the Royal Household for influencing the decision to reduce his security.<\/p>\n

When asked whether he had asked his father the King to intervene in the dispute over security, Harry responded: \u201cI never asked him to intervene – I asked him to step out of the way and let the experts do their jobs.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/div>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
