JD Vance revealed why the conflict between Russia and Ukraine will continue for the time being despite the hopes of peace.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Donald Trump<\/a>\u00a0has previously insisted he would be able to get\u00a0Ukraine<\/a>\u00a0and\u00a0Russia<\/a>\u00a0to agree on peace terms, but the conflict has continued despite his best efforts.<\/p>\n

With that said, some progress has been made as the\u00a0US<\/a>\u00a0and Ukrainian were able to agree to a key minerals agreement.<\/p>\n

However, one of the goals of the agreement is for peace to be reached in Ukraine.<\/p>\n

Speaking to Fox News on May 1, Vance weighed in on the progress that has been made towards that goal.<\/p>\n

He said: \u201cIt\u2019s going to be up to them [Ukraine and Russia] to come to an agreement and stop this brutal, brutal conflict. It\u2019s not going anywhere. It\u2019s not going to end anytime soon.<\/p>\n

\u201cOf course, they [the Ukrainians] are angry that they were invaded, but are we going to continue to lose thousands and thousands of soldiers over a few miles of territory this or that way? I hope both of them come to their senses.”<\/p>\n

Despite a rather macabre prediction of an ongoing conflict, Vance also\u00a0told<\/a>\u00a0Fox News Digital that Donald Trump has made significant progress.<\/p>\n

He said: \u201cThe first and necessary step of getting the Russia-Ukraine conflict solved is to get each of them to make a peace proposal.<\/p>\n

\u201cAnd that’s actually happened. The Ukrainians have said, \u2018This is what we want.\u2019 The Russians have said, \u2018This is what we want,\u2019 and now the work of diplomacy is to try to sort of bring these two sides closer together.<\/p>\n

“Because there’s a very big gulf between what the Russians want and what the Ukrainians want.\u201d<\/p>\n

Vance also took a jab at European leaders as he praised Trump for his ongoing work with both Russia and Ukraine in negotiations.<\/p>\n

Vance added: \u201cA lot of our European friends who, in public, will say, ‘Well, you know, we didn’t necessarily agree with the president what he said, or what he’s done, or, you know, all parts of his policy’.<\/p>\n

\u201cThey will at the same time say he’s the only person who could have actually forced a peace proposal out of each side because these guys weren’t even talking \u2014 not to each other, not to anybody.
