The Philadelphia Eagles paid their due visit to President Donald Trump at the White House on April 28, 2025, to celebrate their Super Bowl victory.<\/p>\n
However, not all the players made the trip. In fact, several of the team\u2019s biggest stars, including Super Bowl MVP Jalen Hurts, decided to skip the event.<\/p>\n
Hurts had a \u201cscheduling conflict,\u201d while his teammates A.J. Brown and DeVonta Smith were also among those who didn\u2019t attend.<\/p>\n
During the brief ceremony on the South Lawn, President Trump praised the Eagles for their fantastic season, which ended with a decisive 40-22 win over the Kansas City Chiefs in the Super Bowl.<\/p>\n
\u201cComplementing Saquon\u2019s historic season was an incredible year for a star quarterback, Jalen Hurts. He really played; he had a great season and a great game. Finished with 32 [combined passing and rushing] touchdowns on the year, turning in one stellar performance after another, terrific guy,\u201d Trump said during the Eagles\u2019 visit.<\/p>\n
Aditionally, he couldn\u2019t resist throwing in a bit of humor. Trump nodded to the team\u2019s famous \u201ctush push\u201d play and called running back Saquon Barkley \u201ca handsome guy\u201d whom he wouldn\u2019t want to tackle.<\/p>\n
While Jalen Hurts\u2019 absence was the major topic during the Eagles\u2019 visit to the White House, the celebration came amid a rocky history between Trump and the Eagles.<\/p>\n
Back in 2018, the team was disinvited from a scheduled White House visit after some players indicated they wouldn\u2019t attend. This led to a public spat that some may remember quite vividly.<\/p>\n
Fast forward to this year, and after some back-and-forth, Trump extended an invitation, which the Eagles accepted, with Lurie mentioning that this is a \u201ctime-honored tradition.\u201d<\/p>\n
He emphasized that attending was purely optional for the players and coaches.<\/p>\n
However, while many still make things up about Hurts ditching the plan with so-and-so reason, Trump made sure to laugh it off.<\/p>\n
Overall, while there were some notable absences, around 54 members of the Eagles organization attended the ceremony.<\/p>\n
