Relatives of the Ordone family issued an update on how the parents are doing following a devastating car crash that claimed the life of their son.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Last week, Katelynn and Jaelan Ordone were driving with their two-year-old son Preston in the backseat when their\u00a0car<\/a>\u00a0veered off the road and hit a tree.<\/p>\n

Preston, best known as viral\u00a0TikTok<\/a>\u00a0star ‘Okay Baby’, tragically\u00a0died in the ordeal<\/a>\u00a0and his parents were left seriously injured.<\/p>\n

Addressing the incident on\u00a0social media<\/a>, Louisiana State\u00a0Police<\/a>\u00a0said in a\u00a0Facebook<\/a>\u00a0post: “The driver and front passenger, who were both properly restrained, sustained serious injuries and were transported to a local hospital. Preston, who was seated in the rear, but improperly restrained in a child safety seat, also sustained serious injuries and was transported to the hospital, where he later succumbed to his injuries.”<\/p>\n

It continued: “As part of the ongoing investigation, a routine toxicology sample was collected from the driver for analysis.<\/p>\n

“Louisiana State Police stress that proper restraint use significantly reduces the risk of serious injury or death in a crash. Louisiana law requires all occupants, regardless of seating position, to be properly restrained at all times. The proper use of seat belts and child safety seats can be the difference between life and death.”<\/p>\n

The statement has caused some upset following the claims that Preston wasn’t properly restrained. The toddler’s grandfather\u00a0addressed<\/a>\u00a0the matter and branded what the police said as ‘hurtful and painful’.<\/p>\n
