Vatican News, a service provided by the Holy See’s Dicastery for Communication about Pope Francis, the Vatican, and the Church, shared a photo of the pope while announcing that he died on Easter Monday at age 88.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

According to the death report issued by a Vatican doctor, the\u00a0pope died<\/a>\u00a0at 7:35 a.m. at his residence in the Vatican’s Casa Santa Marta guesthouse, where he lived. The report also\u00a0revealed<\/a>\u00a0that a cerebral stroke, followed by a coma and “irreversible cardiocirculatory collapse,” caused his death.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n
