Donald Trump was one of the many foreign delegates who travelled to the Vatican City to pay their respects at the pope’s funeral yesterday (26 April), but he’s been branded a ‘disgrace’ by viewers.<\/p>\n

An estimated 400,000 mourners gathered for\u00a0Pope Francis<\/a>\u2019 funeral including leaders and royals from around the world following his\u00a0death on Monday.<\/a><\/p>\n

But despite the huge number of attendees, the\u00a0US<\/a>\u00a0president still ended up managing to stand out as he\u00a0was accused<\/a>\u00a0of \u2018breaking the dress code\u2019.<\/a><\/p>\n

And once he\u2019d already been slammed for that,\u00a0Trump<\/a>\u00a0was then called out for showing \u2018ultimate disrespect\u2019 over two acts he appeared to make during the funeral.<\/p>\n

Ukrainian president\u00a0Volodymyr Zelenskyy<\/a>,\u00a0Irish<\/a>\u00a0President Michael D Higgins and Sir\u00a0Keir Starmer<\/a>\u00a0were also in Rome for the funeral but notably, the leaders were all wearing black.<\/p>\n

However, Trump opted for a navy<\/p>\n

Some users on Twitter said he had \u2018no class\u2019 as they couldn\u2019t understand why he wasn\u2019t \u2018wearing traditional black\u2019.<\/p>\n

\u201cWhy is Trump wearing a blue suit instead of a black one like others. Perhaps Zelenskyy could ask him why he hasn’t dressed more appropriately?” one wrote as many others said the American has \u2018zero respect\u2019.<\/p>\n

It is worth pointing out that he wasn\u2019t the only one in blue, as Prince William also wore a navy (albeit slightly darker) suit.<\/p>\n

But Trump went on to cause further upset during the service itself.<\/p>\n

As spotted on camera, it appeared the American was having a chew of some chewing gum and checking his phone at the funeral.<\/p>\n

Users said that he was a \u2018total disgrace\u2019 as one accused: \u201cTexting from the front row at a funeral\u2026the ultimate disrespect and rudeness from the President of America.\u201d<\/p>\n

Another called him a \u2018total embarrassment\u2019.<\/p>\n

\u201cSuch a douchebag. Wearing blue, not black. On his phone at the Pope’s funeral. I’m an atheist, but even I show respect for the dead,\u201d a second slammed.<\/p>\n

As he requested, Pope Francis was moved to the basilica of St Mary Major where he frequently visited during his life.<\/p>\n

He expressed his wishes in his final testament, as he opted for changes to tradition.<\/p>\n

Pope Francis wanted things to be \u2018simple\u2019 with a\u00a0simplified coffin.<\/a><\/p>\n

With the instructions given for his burial and explanation of being entrusted to the Virgin Mary, he concluded: \u201cMay the Lord grant a fitting reward to all those who have loved me and who continue to pray for me.
