Jimmy Kimmel has to be one of the most beloved TV faces.<\/p>\n

Except for being the host of\u00a0Jimmy Kimmel Live<\/em>, he has been in the group of a selected few who have hosted the Oscars four times.<\/h3>\n

Although many thought that Kimmel would be once again taking the stage at the Dolby Theatre in Hollywood as a host this year, that didn\u2019t happen.<\/p>\n

Speaking to\u00a0Los Angeles Times<\/a><\/em>\u00a0while preparing for the 2024 Academy Awards and why he agreed to another go-round, Kimmel said, \u201cI did not think I would ever do it again. I did two of them, and they went well \u2014 something crazy happened at one of them with a story I\u2019ll have for the rest of my life. I know how much work goes into them, so I thought, \u2018Yeah, I don\u2019t necessarily want to do this ever again.\u2019 \u201d<\/p>\n

The\u00a0Jimmy Kimmel Live<\/em>\u00a0had its premiere in 2003. At the time, he was a newbie but managed to make a name for himself as one of the best in the field, becoming America\u2019s longest-running current late-night\u00a0talk show host<\/a>.<\/p>\n

But is he considering walking away?<\/h2>\n

In fact, during an episode of\u00a0\u201cStrike Force Five,\u201d\u00a0the podcast he co-hosted with other late-night program hosts during the writers\u2019 strike, Kimmel confessed he thought of quitting his show. However, it was the strike that reminded him how much he enjoyed hosting\u00a0Jimmy Kimmel Live<\/em>.<\/p>\n

\u201cIt\u2019s hard to yearn for it when you\u2019re doing it,\u201d he told\u00a0Los Angeles Times<\/a>.<\/em>\u00a0\u201cWednesday night, I was very tired and I had all these scripts to go through \u2014 I had to revise and rewrite all these pitch ideas for the Oscars \u2014 and I was literally nodding off onto my computer. In those moments, I think, \u2018I cannot wait until my contract is over.\u2019 But then, I take the summer off or I go on strike, and you start going, \u2018Yeah, I miss the fun stuff.\u2019 \u201d<\/p>\n

He then went on to say, \u201cI think this is my final contract. I hate to even say it, because everyone\u2019s laughing at me now \u2014 each time I think that, and then it turns out to be not the case. I still have a little more than two years left on my contract, and that seems pretty good. That seems like enough.\u201d<\/p>\n
