The father of slain teen Austin Metcalf said he hoped he could pray with the family of his son\u2019s alleged killer \u2014 but wound up feeling \u201cdisrespected\u201d when he showed up earlier this week at a press conference organized by the accused slayer\u2019s kin and got thrown out.<\/p>\n

Karmelo Anthony\u2019s family held the press event last Thursday in Dallas, a few days after the 17-year-old was allowed to leave jail on house arrest.<\/p>\n

But the proceedings came to a halt when Austin\u2019s father Jeff Metcalf showed up out of the blue \u2014 only to be escorted out by a pack of Dallas cops. He thought it could have been handled differently.<\/p>\n

\u201cThey should have pulled me up [to the front] and said, \u2018We are so sorry. Our condolences.\u2019 The only thing I would have said was, \u2018Okay, can we pray together and show the world we\u2019re united,\u201d he told The Post on Saturday.<\/p>\n

After the impromptu appearance, both Metcalf and his ex-wife had police\u00a0called to their houses\u00a0<\/a>in \u201cswatting\u201d pranks, he confirmed to the Post.<\/p>\n

He also resigned from his real estate job Saturday, fearing for his colleague\u2019s and clients\u2019 safety, he said.<\/p>\n

<\/span><\/span>But Metcalf said he meant no ill will by showing up at the event \u2014 he simply wanted to \u201crepresent Austin\u201d in response to people disparaging him online, painting the late teen as a violent bully.<\/p>\n

Metcalf said he\u2019d hoped for an apology from the Anthonys for the actions of their son, who allegedly stabbed Austin, also 17, in the heart during a fight over a seat at a high school track meet in Frisco, Texas, earlier this month.<\/p>\n

What he did not expect was to be escorted out of the building by Dallas police.<\/p>\n

At the conference, Karmelo\u2019s mother Kala Hayes spoke through tears about what she called \u201clies and false accusations that have been said about us, especially over the past week,\u201d claiming they have \u201cput my family in danger.\u201d<\/p>\n

<\/span><\/span>Anthony\u2019s parents had previously said he acted in self-defense when Metcalf physically attacked him, suggesting they plan to fight their son\u2019s first-degree murder charged.<\/p>\n

But their latest statements \u2014 at a private event space \u2014 were delayed by a full half hour as organizers tried to figure out what do to about the looming Metcalf.<\/p>\n

\u201cI get a text. My phone\u2019s blowing up. It\u2019s the f\u2014ing DA. He said, \u2018Jeff, leave! Leave! Leave!’\u201d Metcalf recalled. \u201cMy ex wife texts me: \u2018Leave, leave, leave!\u2019 They\u2019ll call the cops if I don\u2019t get the f\u2014 out of there.\u201d<\/p>\n

Activist Dominique Alexander of Next Generation Action Network later called Metcalf\u2019s visit \u201ca disrespect\u00a0to the dignity of his son.\u201d<\/p>\n

Metcalf did not care for Alexander\u2019s comments.<\/p>\n

\u201cAfter I leave, that Dominique \u2026 just gaslights to s\u2014 out of me. Says I\u2019m disrespecting, I\u2019m so disrespectful, I\u2019m disrespecting the dignity of my son by showing up \u2026 and I\u2019m just like whatever, dude. My character\u2019s been assassinated. Or they\u2019ve tried to assassinate my character.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cThis is my point: We\u2019re both victims. My son\u2019s dead. They\u2019re son will be in prison.
