A high school track athlete ‘died in their twin’s arms’ after being fatally stabbed at a championship meet.<\/strong><\/p>\n Austin Metcalf, a junior athlete at Frisco ISD’s Memorial High School in Texas, was fatally stabbed at a track and field championship event on April 2.<\/p>\n He was a member of the track and field team and also played American football as a linebacker.<\/p>\n His father, Jeff Metcalf, claimed to NBC Dallas-Fort Worth that an argument broke out in the stands between his son and another student over a seat.<\/p>\n It is alleged that the other student was told he was sitting in the wrong seat, before he then is alleged to have stabbed Metcalf in the chest.<\/p>\n The 17-year-old’s twin brother saw the events unfold and attempted to aid Metcalf but he sadly passed away at the scene.<\/p>\n The father explained: “They were twins, identical twins. And his brother was holding on to him, trying to make it stop bleeding, and he died in his brother’s arms.<\/p>\n “I could see all the blood, and I saw where the wound was, and I was very concerned, so I had to find his brother, and we rushed to the hospital. And we prayed, and it’s God’s plan, I don’t understand it, but they weren’t able to save him.<\/p>\n “This is murder.”<\/p>\n The suspect was arrested and charged with first-degree murder.<\/p>\n
