Amy Schumer another candid health update with fans, after previously revealing her Ozempic horror story.<\/p>\n

The actor and comedian has been candid about her\u00a0health<\/a>\u00a0over the past couple of months, even revealing on an episode of\u00a0The Howard Stern Show\u00a0<\/em>that she’d\u00a0dabbled with the diabetes drug<\/a>, which has recently become popular amongst celebrities seeking to lose weight, only to end up completely ‘bedridden’.<\/p>\n

“I tried Ozempic almost three years ago and I was like, bedridden,” she explained.<\/p>\n

“I was like, vomiting \u2014 and then you have no energy. But other people take it and they\u2019re all good.”<\/p>\n

Despite her nauseating first experience with the weight-loss drug, Schumer wasn’t deterred and revealed in a recent Instagram post that she was having a better experience with similar drug Mounjaro.<\/p>\n

“Three years ago, I tried Wegovy,” Schumer said in a\u00a0social media<\/a>\u00a0video. “I was puking, I couldn\u2019t handle it. I don\u2019t know if they\u2019ve changed the formula, whatever.”<\/p>\n

She went on to explain that she’d had an online health referral via online midlife health clinic Midi Health.<\/p>\n

Going on to reveal that was feeling the benefits of being prescribed estrogen and progesterone for perimenopause symptoms, she continued: “So that\u2019s been great and Mounjaro\u2019s been great.”<\/p>\n

Ozempic and similar appetite suppressant drugs such as Wegovy and Mounjaro were primarily created for treatment of Type 2 Diabetes through the use of either semaglutide (Ozempic and Wegovy) or tirzepatide (Mounjaro).<\/p>\n

The availability of the drugs for weight loss on the\u00a0NHS<\/a>\u00a0is currently changing, with both\u00a0Wegovy<\/a>\u00a0currently available through limited specialist services.<\/p>\n

Mounjaro<\/a>\u00a0was also approved for usage by NICE in December 2024 and is expected to be rolled out in a similar manner.<\/p>\n

Schumer – who lives in the\u00a0US<\/a>\u00a0– then went on to clarify that she was aware that the drug wasn’t fully available where she lives, adding: “It\u2019s not covered by insurance unless you have diabetes or severe obesity, which most of the internet thinks I have, but I\u2019m having a really good experience with it.<\/p>\n

“I wanted to keep it real with you about that.”<\/p>\n

Schumer has also been candid about the impact of trolling on her appearance, even revealing that a barrage of cruel comments meant that she was able to\u00a0receive a Cushing’s Syndrome diagnosis<\/a>.<\/p>\n

“I wouldn\u2019t have known [about\u00a0Cushing’s Syndrome<\/a>] if the internet hadn\u2019t come for me so hard,” she joked during an interview on\u00a0Call Her Daddy.<\/em><\/p>\n

“Doctors were chiming in in the comments and they were, like, ‘No, no, something’s really up. Your face looks so crazy’.”<\/p>\n
