White House press secretary Karoline Leavitt made history when she became the youngest person in the US to ever serve in her position.<\/p>\n

Since assuming office in January, she\u2019s made short work of getting her name out there, having falsely stated in her first press conference that the\u00a0US<\/a>\u00a0almost spent $50 million on condoms for Gaza \u2013 a bold claim that Reuters ultimately\u00a0found<\/a>\u00a0no evidence to support.<\/p>\n

This week, Leavitt was back in headlines after a controversial swipe at the French, retaliating for calls made by Rapha\u00ebl Glucksmann – a member of the European Parliament and France\u2019s center-left Place Publique party – who demanded the return of the Statue of Liberty, which had been a gift from his nation.<\/p>\n

\u201cMy advice to that unnamed low-level French politician would be to remind them that it\u2019s only because of the United States of America that the French are not speaking German right now,\u201d Leavitt said in a briefing yesterday.<\/p>\n

\u201cSo they should be very grateful to our great country.\u201d<\/p>\n

But it\u2019s not just her political remarks that are catching people\u2019s attention.<\/p>\n

It seems Leavitt, 27, is keen to defend her\u00a0relationship<\/a>\u00a0with husband Nicholas Riccio, who just so happens to be 32 years her senior.<\/p>\n

Leavitt admitted the age gap made her marriage a little unorthodox, but stressed how \u2018supportive\u2019 her partner is.<\/p>\n

\u201cIt’s [a] very atypical love story, but he\u2019s incredible,\u201d she said during an episode of\u00a0The Megyn Kelly Show<\/em>\u00a0last month.<\/p>\n

\u201cHe is my greatest supporter, he\u2019s my best friend, he\u2019s my rock.\u201d<\/p>\n

Leavitt and Riccio, 59, announced their engagement in December 2023, before\u00a0tying the knot<\/a>\u00a0in a private ceremony.<\/p>\n

\u201cA mutual friend of ours hosted an event at a restaurant that he owns up in New Hampshire and invited my husband,\u201d she recalled.<\/p>\n

Leavitt and Riccio welcomed their first child last year (Instagram\/@karolineleavitt)<\/cite><\/div>\n

\u201cI was speaking. We met, we were acquainted as friends and then we fell in love.\u201d<\/p>\n

They welcomed their first child last year, at which point Leavitt planned to go on maternity leave \u2013 only to cut it short when an assassination attempt was made on\u00a0Donald Trump<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Riccio, she says, has always been understanding of her professional choices, having forged a thriving career of his own in\u00a0real estate<\/a>.<\/p>\n
