“These networks and these newspapers are really no different than the highly\u00a0paid<\/a>\u00a0political operative,” the 78-year-old previously hit out. “And it has to stop. It has to be illegal. It is influencing judges and it is really changing law and that just cannot be\u00a0illegal<\/a>. I don’t believe it is legal.”<\/p>\n As we say, however, later that afternoon, as the Republican leader took media questions about the situation in the\u00a0Middle East<\/a>\u00a0whilst preparing to leave Washington D.C., a reporter\u00a0hit him in the face with a boom mic<\/a>.<\/p>\n In response to the mishap, Trump simply closed his eyes and leaned away, before laughing off the excruciating moment.<\/p>\n “She just became a big story tonight,” he said of the mic operator.<\/p>\n “She just made television tonight,” the father-of-five continued. “Did you see that?”<\/p>\n As we say, however, since footage of the blunder since went viral, a handful of Trump fans have failed to see the humour, with many suggesting that the incident could be considered a major threat to Trump’s security.<\/p>\n Taking to X (formerly Twitter), one questioned: “How on earth did a reporter get that boom mic so close to Trump\u2019s face?<\/p>\n “This just doesn\u2019t seem right. Security should tighten up,” they added. “Embarrassing for the press.”<\/p>\n Another hit out online: “This is a failure of the @SecretService to protect him.<\/p>\n “He handled it well, but that boom mic could\u2019ve had poison (arsenic) on it.
