Donald Trump was announced as the 47th president of the United States on 6 November and his words of trans rights have resurfaced.<\/p>\n

Having beat Kamala Harris in the race, the 78-year-old, who is also the\u00a0first convicted felon to serve in the presidential role<\/a>, won the election after making\u00a0a series of vows<\/a>\u00a0on what he will do after\u00a0his win<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Currently, he\u2019s been seemingly keeping his promises, as he began his controversial tariffs\u00a0domestically<\/a>\u00a0and across the\u00a0world<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Having been focused on his ‘America<\/a>\u00a0First’\u00a0foreign policy<\/a>, border security, and bid to discredit the\u00a0climate crisis<\/a>, Trump naturally moved on to the\u00a0LGBTQ+<\/a>\u00a0community.<\/p>\n

Almost immediately, he signed an\u00a0executive order making only two genders recognised<\/a>\u00a0in the US and\u00a0banned the Pride flag<\/a>\u00a0on all official government buildings.<\/p>\n

But what has\u00a0Trump<\/a>\u00a0actually said about trans rights, after\u00a0Caitlyn Jenner\u2019s<\/a>\u00a0congratulatory post for him, left fans seriously confused on his stance towards\u00a0LGBTQ+<\/a>\u00a0matters?<\/p>\n

Caitlyn, who transitioned in 2015 after announcing that she identified as a woman in April of that year, took to\u00a0Instagram<\/a>\u00a0to share a message to her 15.4 million followers following Trump’s win.<\/p>\n

She posted a snap of herself, Trump, his granddaughter Kai Madison, and Elon Musk, captioning the photo: “Hope is back in America.<\/p>\n

“These two men will single-handedly save western civilisation and that starts with a strong United States of America.”<\/p>\n

The ex Keeping up with the Kardashians<\/em><\/a>\u00a0star added: “I am here and at your service and forever indebted to your sacrifice for this country.<\/p>\n

“Let\u2019s Make America Great Again!”<\/p>\n

But what is Trump’s stance on trans rights?<\/p>\n

Well, he’s previously said he will order all federal agencies to end programmes that ‘promote \u2026 gender transition at any age’, as well as pledging to slash funding from hospitals providing gender-affirming care which ‘promote the concept of sex and gender transition at any age’.<\/p>\n

He’s also vowed to push for a federal law stating the government doesn\u2019t legally recognise trans people and rescind federal LGBTQ+ non-discrimination policies, like housing, healthcare, and employment.<\/p>\n

Back in March, he told a crowd in Iowa he would sign an executive order to ‘cut federal funding’ for schools pushing ‘critical race theory, transgender insanity, and other inappropriate racial, sexual, or political content on our children’.<\/p>\n

“The left-wing gender insanity being pushed at our children is an act of child abuse. Very simple. Here\u2019s my plan to stop the chemical, physical, and emotional mutilation of our youth,” Trump also said back in January.<\/p>\n

He has also called for new credentialing for teachers to ‘promote positive education about the nuclear family, the roles of mothers and fathers’,\u00a0as per<\/a>\u00a0The Guardian.<\/p>\n
