After my Netflix special, I\u2019m done.\u201d<\/p>\n After hearing the talk show host\u2019s sad health update in the special, fans have taken to social media and shared well wishes.<\/p>\n One fan writes: \u201cHope she gets better.\u201d<\/p>\n \u201cHopefully she is getting the help she needs,\u201d another adds. \u201cWishing her well.\u201d<\/p>\n In 2020, everything changed for DeGeneres.<\/p>\n Two BuzzFeed expos\u00e9s explored allegations of a\u00a0toxic work culture, discrimination<\/a>, and\u00a0s**ual misconduct and harassment<\/a>\u00a0on the set of her once popular program,\u00a0The Ellen DeGeneres Show<\/em>.<\/p>\n Although the reports didn\u2019t allege toxic behavior by DeGeneres herself, it led to the comedian facing a ton of criticism.<\/p>\n In 2022, she made the difficult decision to end her show following a decline in ratings and the fallout from the reports of a toxic work culture, reports\u00a0The i<\/a>.<\/p>\n In her new Netflix special, DeGeneres addresses this chapter of her life and how she sought therapy afterward.<\/p>\n The therapy uncovered the comedian has a mental health condition.<\/p>\n In her comedy special, she says: \u201cI may have OCD because a therapist said so and I said, \u2018Yes I am very organized,\u2019 because I thought that was the O. I didn\u2019t know what OCD was.\u201d<\/p>\n DeGeneres explained that she was raised in a religion that \u2018doesn\u2019t acknowledge diseases or disorders\u2019 so \u2018nobody talked about anything\u2019 like that when she was growing up.<\/p>\n According to the\u00a0Mayo Clinic<\/a>, obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD) \u2018features patterns of unwanted thoughts and fears known as obsessions\u2019 that can \u2018lead people to do repetitive behaviors, also called compulsions.\u2019<\/p>\n These obsessions and compulsions may affect the person\u2019s daily activities and cause distress.<\/p>\n DeGeneres said upon reflection, she believes her father may also have suffered from the condition.<\/p>\n She recalls: \u201cHe would check the doorknob 15 times before we\u2019d leave, he\u2019d check the faucet 15 times.
