Hollyoaks<\/em>\u00a0actor Paul Danan died from a cocktail of drugs including cocaine and heroin, an inquest opening has heard.<\/p>\n

Announcing his death<\/a>\u00a0in January, Danan’s management said in a statement: “It is with heavy hearts that we share the tragic news of the passing of @pauldanan at just 46 years old.”<\/p>\n

The statement went on: “Known for his television presence, exceptional talent, and unwavering kindness, Paul was a beacon of light to so many. His untimely departure will leave irreplaceable voids in the lives of all who knew him.<\/p>\n

“During this difficult time, we kindly request respect and privacy for Paul’s family, friends, and colleagues. No further comments will be made at this time.”<\/p>\n

According to<\/a>\u00a0Bristol Live, coroner’s officer Alexis Camp confirmed the primary cause of death as combined toxicity of heroin, methadone, codeine, pregabalin, cocaine and zopiclone, with a secondary contributory finding of benzodiazepine.<\/p>\n

The coroner’s hearing was told that Danan was found unresponsive at his flat in Brislington, and that paramedics were called at around 5.20pm on 15 January.<\/p>\n

Paramedics and police attended, but he was sadly pronounced dead at the scene.<\/p>\n

Danan played the character Sol Patrick from 1997 to 2001 on the\u00a0Channel 4<\/a>\u00a0soap and later appeared in\u00a0Celebrity Love Island<\/em>\u00a0in both 2005 and 2006.<\/p>\n

In 2017, Danan also took part in Channel 5\u2019s\u00a0Celebrity Big Brother<\/em>, where he was evicted early, saying at the time he hoped the series would give him a ‘second chance’ at his career.<\/p>\n

The Hollyoaks star is also famed for appearing on Celebrity Big Brother (Karwai Tang\/WireImage)<\/cite><\/div>\n

His other\u00a0TV<\/a>\u00a0appearances included E4\u2019s\u00a0Celebrity Coach Trip<\/em>\u00a0and the Channel 4 sketch comedy programme,\u00a0The Kevin Bishop Show<\/em>.<\/p>\n

At the time of his death, tributes soon poured in for the star, with one X user writing: “RIP Paul Danan aged just 46. Thoughts with @PaulyDanan family at this sad time. He was great in Celebrity #BBUK #RIPPaulDanan.”<\/p>\n

“Crikey, how sad about Paul Danan,” penned a second, as a third added: “Former\u00a0Hollyoaks<\/em>\u00a0actor Paul Danan has sadly died aged 46. May he #RestInPeace.”<\/p>\n

“Shocked about Paul Danan. Only 46. RIP,” echoed another, while a final X user offered: “Saddened to hear of the passing of\u00a0Hollyoaks<\/em>\u00a0and\u00a0Love Island<\/em>\u00a0star Paul Danan he was a good man sending condolences to his family and friends RIP Paul you will be missed.”<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
