A Marriage Built on Privacy & Devotion<\/strong><\/h2>\n<\/div>\n

Parton and Dean’s love story\u00a0began in 1964<\/a>\u00a0outside a laundromat in Nashville, Tennessee. She was just 18 years old at the time, and Dean, 21, was instantly smitten. “My first thought was, ‘I’m going to marry that girl,'” Dean once\u00a0recalled<\/a>. “My second was, ‘Lord, she’s good looking.’ And that was the day my life began.”<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

Their relationship moved quickly, and just two years later, on May 30, 1966, they exchanged vows in a small, private ceremony in Ringgold, Georgia, with only Parton’s mother as a witness.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n
