Donald Trump is set to temporary revoke the legal status of nearly 240,000 Ukrainians who fled to the US after Russia’s invasion of Ukraine.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Trump presented his presidential speech to\u00a0Congress<\/a>\u00a0earlier this week, where he revealed\u00a0Vladimir Putin has provided ‘strong signals’<\/a>\u00a0to the\u00a0US<\/a>\u00a0for peace and detailed a\u00a0letter received from President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy<\/a>\u00a0amid the ongoing war in Europe.<\/p>\n

Just last week, the 47th POTUS accused Zelenskyy of\u00a0‘gambling with World War 3’<\/a>, while Vice President JD Vance insisted that\u00a0Zelenskyy<\/a>\u00a0was treating both Trump and the US with disrespect and persistently called on the Ukrainian to ‘thank’ the president.<\/p>\n

And after\u00a0Trump withdrew military aid for Ukraine<\/a>\u00a0earlier this week, the president is set to crack down on Ukrainians who moved to the US following Russia’s invasion of Ukraine in February 2022.<\/p>\n

As per a report<\/a>\u00a0by Reuters, a Trump official and three sources close to the president confirmed the move was happening, which could see 240,000 Ukrainians fast-tracked to deportation.<\/p>\n

The outlet states the move could come as early as next month – something which would be a huge departure from Joe Biden’s response to the war.<\/p>\n

The Biden administration increased the number of immigrants who can apply for Temporary Protected Status (TPS), a scheme that allows people to live and work in the US for a certain period of time.<\/p>\n

It was used by 240,000 Ukrainians some three years ago after Vladimir Putin invaded their country.<\/p>\n

As per Reuters sources, the impending move by Trump is part of his plan to strip legal status from more than 1.8 million migrants\u00a0who entered the US under the Biden’s leadership.<\/p>\n

When Zelenskyy was in the Oval Office last week, Trump accused Zelenskyy of ‘gambling with the lives of millions of people’ as the conflict between Russia and Ukraine continues.<\/p>\n

“You’re gambling with World War Three, and what you’re doing is very disrespectful to the country, this country that’s backed you far more than a lot of people say they should have,” the president said.<\/p>\n

The Ukrainian president later shared a statement in which he reiterated ‘Ukraine\u2019s commitment to peace’ and made clear that no one wants an ‘endless war’.<\/p>\n

He continued: “Ukraine is ready to come to the negotiating table as soon as possible to bring lasting peace closer. Nobody wants peace more than Ukrainians. My team and I stand ready to work under President Trump\u2019s strong leadership to get a peace that lasts.<\/p>\n

“We are ready to work fast to end the war, and the first stages could be the release of prisoners and truce in the sky \u2014 ban on missiles, long-ranged drones, bombs on energy and other civilian infrastructure \u2014 and truce in the sea immediately, if\u00a0Russia<\/a>\u00a0will do the same.<\/p>\n
