Controversy erupted after it was incorrectly reported online that Imane might be transgender \u2014 after she was disqualified from the women\u2019s World Championships in New Delhi for failing a gender eligibility test.<\/p>\n

At the same tournament, Taiwan\u2019s Lin Yu-ting was also disqualified for failing to meet the gender eligibility criteria as well.<\/p>\n

Despite the controversy, Imane will move on to face her next opponent.<\/p>\n

Unlike Angela Carini, Anna Luca Hamori does not seem afraid to fight Khelif following the Algerian\u2019s controversial opener.<\/p>\n

Hamori, Hungary\u2019s first Olympic boxer, has now given her thoughts on her upcoming quarterfinal opponent.<\/p>\n

The 23-year-old has stressed that she is solely focused on her own performance and refuses to be distracted by the major backlash coming to Imane Khelif over her gender.<\/p>\n

he told reporters: \u201cI\u2019m not scared. I don\u2019t care about the press story and social media.<\/p>\n

\u201cIf she or he is a man, it will be a bigger victory for me if I win.\u201d<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

Hamori added: \u201cI\u2019m trying to not use my phone before the fight.<\/p>\n

\u201cI don\u2019t want to care about the comments or the story or the news. I just want to stay focused on myself.<\/p>\n

\u201cI did it before my last two fights, so I think this is the key, and we will see.\u201d<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

Hamori made it cleear that she is jumping in the ring to fight and has zero plans to stop it early.<\/p>\n

\u201cIt was her [Carini\u2019s] choice,\u201d Hamori said. \u201cI don\u2019t understand, because I thought every boxer\u2019s mind is the same like mine, to never give up.<\/p>\n

\u201cBut it was her choice. We don\u2019t know what was the reason. It\u2019s her life, but I know I want to do this in my own life.\u201d<\/p>\n

Italy\u2019s Angela Carini called off her fight against Imane Khelif after just 46 seconds on Thursday, having taken a heavy punch to the face.<\/p>\n

It led to her crying in the ring and major backlash online over Khelif being labeled as transgender.<\/p>\n

Former IBF bantamweight champion\u00a0Ebanie Bridges<\/a>\u00a0made it clear to\u00a0talkSPORT<\/a>\u00a0that if she were in the same position, she would boycott the Olympics.<\/p>\n
