Casey Anthony<\/a>, the mother who was famously\u00a0acquitted of the murder<\/a>\u00a0of her 2-year-old daughter, has joined TikTok.<\/p>\n

Anthony became a fixture in the news following the 2008 death of her daughter,\u00a0Caylee<\/a>, who had been missing for months.<\/p>\n

<\/div>\n

The Florida mother was eventually charged with murder after Caylee was found dead in a wooded area near the home of Anthony\u2019s parents.<\/p>\n

<\/div>\n

In 2011, Anthony was controversially found not guilty of murder, but she was convicted of lying to law enforcement.<\/p>\n

<\/div>\n

Now, in a video posted March 1, Anthony has announced that she is on TikTok and is starting a Substack.<\/p>\n

\u201cI am a legal advocate, I am a researcher, I\u2019ve been in the legal field since 2011 and in this capacity, I feel that it\u2019s necessary, if I\u2019m going to continue to operate appropriately as a legal advocate, that I start to advocate for myself and also advocate for my daughter,\u201d Anthony said in the video, which is longer than three minutes. (Caylee was Anthony’s only child.)<\/p>\n

During Anthony\u2019s trial, the defense argued that Caylee had drowned in the backyard swimming pool of Casey\u2019s parents, George and Cindy Anthony.<\/p>\n

Anthony claimed that her parents had covered up her daughter\u2019s death by burying her body, and further alleged that George had sexually abused Caylee, a claim that he has steadfastly denied.<\/p>\n

Prosecutors had claimed that Anthony used chloroform to kill her daughter and pointed to different lies she had told during the investigation.<\/p>\n

In her TikTok, Anthony said that recently, people close to her had been targeted.<\/p>\n

\u201cAs a proponent for the LGBTQ community, for legal community, women\u2019s rights, I feel that it\u2019s important that I use this platform that was thrust upon me and now look at as a blessing, as opposed to the curse that it has been since 2008,\u201d she said.<\/p>\n

Anthony also announced that she has started a Substack and that she will be setting up an email for people to communicate with her directly about legal matters.<\/p>\n

In her first post on the blogging platform, Anthony wrote that \u201cthe presumption of innocence is a sacred right.\u201d<\/p>\n
