If you thought Drake\u2019s year couldn\u2019t get any worse, you were wrong.<\/p>\n

Whether it be the Super Bowl halftime show centring around Kendrick\u2019s now iconic diss track \u2018Not Like Us\u2019 or it becoming a multi-Grammy award winning track \u2013\u00a0Drake\u2019s<\/a>\u00a0year has just gone from low to low.<\/p>\n

Conan O\u2019Brien piled on to this however, firing a\u00a0shocking joke<\/a>\u00a0at Drake that even had viewers questioning whether they had heard him correctly.<\/p>\n

O\u2019Brien came out during the halfway point of the awards, joking about the\u00a0Super Bowl<\/a>\u00a0halftime show.<\/p>\n

He said: \u201cWell, we’re halfway through the show, which means it’s time for\u00a0Kendrick Lamar<\/a>\u00a0to come out and call Drake a pedophile.\u201d<\/p>\n

The joke shocked viewers, with one saying: “DRAKE CATCHING STRAYS AT THE\u00a0OSCARS<\/a>\u00a0TOO???????????”<\/p>\n

Another said: “Not Drake catching strays at the Oscars as well.”<\/p>\n

A third tweeted: “Did Conan just say it\u2019s time to for Kendrick to come up and call drake a pedophile.”<\/p>\n

‘Not Like Us’ by Kendrick Lamar was the culmination of a weeks long beef between Drake and Lamar in which each fired shots at one another.<\/p>\n

Kendrick’s diss track, however, became a global hit, with the line ‘trying to strike a chord and it’s probably A Minor’ and ‘certified lover-boy, certified paedophile’ both going viral from the song.<\/p>\n

Drake initiated a lawsuit following the song going viral, though not aimed at Lamar.<\/p>\n

Instead Drake is suing his label Universal Music Group (UMG), which also represent Lamar.<\/p>\n

His lawyers said in a statement: “UMG is masquerading as a champion of artistic freedom by calling its actions merely \u2018entertainment,\u2019 but there is nothing entertaining about pedophilia or child abuse in the real world.<\/p>\n

“We are confident that the evidence we will ultimately present at trial\u2014including information we\u2019ve already learned and continue to receive since filing the lawsuit\u2014will expose UMG\u2019s gross prioritization of its own corporate profits and executive bonuses over its exclusively signed artists\u2019 well-being and the truth.”<\/p>\n

UMG previously released a statement saying: “Not only are these claims untrue, but the notion that we would seek to harm the reputation of any artist\u2014let alone Drake\u2014is illogical.<\/p>\n

“We have invested massively in his music and our employees around the world have worked tirelessly for many years to help him achieve historic commercial and personal financial success.<\/p>\n

“Throughout his career, Drake has intentionally and successfully used UMG to distribute his music and poetry to engage in conventionally outrageous back-and-forth ‘rap battles’ to express his feelings about other artists.<\/p>\n

“He now seeks to weaponize the legal process to silence an artist’s creative expression and to seek damages from [Universal] for distributing that artist’s music.”<\/p>\n

Jolie said during her acceptance speech: “I\u2019m in shock, and I\u2019m so in love with my brother right now.<\/p>\n

So far so innocuous, but the pair then went on to lock lips on the red carpet after the ceremony in front of paparazzi.<\/p>\n

Reflecting on the incident in 2007, James said: \u201cI did not give Angie a French kiss. It was something simple and lovely. She was about to go off to Mexico to finish filming\u00a0Original Sin\u00a0<\/em>with Antonio Banderas.<\/p>\n

“I congratulated her on the Oscar win and gave her a quick kiss on the lips. It was snapped and became a big thing.”<\/p>\n

The last time Brody was up for Best Actor, he took Berry and everyone else by surprise when he\u00a0passionately kissed her<\/a>\u00a0as she presented him with the award.<\/p>\n

She was sympathetic for how the moment may have gone to Brody\u2019s head, however, adding: \u201cI was there the year before and I know the feeling of being out of your body, I just f**king went with it.\u201d<\/p>\n

On the campaign trail for\u00a0The Brutalist\u00a0<\/em>this year, Bordy\u00a0said<\/a>\u00a0of the moment in an interview with Variety: \u201cWe live in a very conscious time, which is a wonderful thing.<\/p>\n

\u201cAnd nothing that I ever do or have done or would\u2019ve done is ever done with the intention of making anyone feel bad.\u201d<\/p>\n

Travolta later apologised, saying in a statement: \u201cI’ve been beating myself up all day. Then I thought … what would Idina Menzel say? She\u2019d say, ‘Let it go, let it go!’<\/p>\n

The\u00a0La La Land<\/em>\u00a0and\u00a0Moonlight<\/em>\u00a0fiasco (2017)<\/strong><\/h3>\n

Back in 2017, the most prestigious award of the night, Best Film, was about to be announced.<\/p>\n

Warren Beatty and Faye Dunaway announced the gong had gone to\u00a0La La Land,\u00a0<\/em>the Ryan Gosling and Emma Stone musical which was widely considered the favourite to win.<\/p>\n

Two and half minutes later, when the\u00a0La La Land\u00a0<\/em>team were midway through their acceptance speeches, a producer on the film Jordan Horowitz was shown another envelope that revealed they hadn\u2019t won after all.<\/p>\n

There\u2019s a mistake,” he said. “Moonlight<\/em>, you guys won Best Picture. This is not a joke.\u201d<\/p>\n

It turned out Beatty had somehow been handed the envelope for Best Actress, which went to Emma Stone for\u00a0La La Land\u00a0<\/em>earlier in the evening.<\/p>\n

It turned into a mortifying experience for all involved.\u00a0Moonlight\u00a0<\/em>director Barry Jenkins said afterwards: \u201cI noticed the commotion but I was speechless when the result was altered. I’ve never seen that happen before.\u201d<\/p>\n

The slap heard around the world (2022)<\/strong><\/h3>\n

Easily the most dramatic thing to ever happen at the Oscars, Smith strode on stage and walloped presenter Chris Rock, after he made an ill-advised joke about the\u00a0Men in Black\u00a0<\/em>star\u2019s wife Jada Pinkett-Smith.<\/p>\n

Rock said on stage: \u201cJada, can’t wait for\u00a0G.I. Jane 2,\u201d\u00a0<\/em>a reference to her shaved head. Jada has been open about her struggles with alopecia, which made this a low blow in many people\u2019s eyes.<\/p>\n

Cue Smith striding on stage and smacking Rock, later yelling at him: \u201cKeep my wife’s name out of your f**king mouth.\u201d<\/p>\n

The upside of all this was that Smith was banned from attending the Oscars for 10 years, although he did awkwardly go on to pick up the award for Best Actor later that evening.<\/p>\n
