Sajak, 77, will host\u00a0his last episode\u00a0of the family-favorite show on Friday, June 7. Before that, White, 67, gave a\u00a0heartfelt and emotional speech\u00a0honroing Sajak\u2019s legacy and praising the pair\u2019s longtime friendship.<\/p>\n
\u201cI can\u2019t believe that tomorrow is our last show together,\u201d White said. \u201cI don\u2019t know how to put into words what these past 40 years have meant to me but I\u2019m going to try.\u201d<\/p>\n
She continued: \u201c8000 episodes went by like that. When I first started, I was so green. You made me so comfortable and so confident, Pat. You made me who I am, you really did.\u201d<\/p>\n White then noted that although the two have \u201cgrown up\u201d and had fun together in front of the cameras, their time spent behind the scenes was most special to her.<\/p>\n \u201cAs much fun as we\u2019ve had on camera, those memories, milestones and life events we shared with our families outside the studio are my favorite,\u201d she said.<\/p>\n As White recalled the role Sajak has played in her and her family\u2019s lives, she began to cry.<\/p>\n \u201cWe\u2019ve watched our children grow up together, we\u2019ve traveled all over the world, we\u2019ve eaten hundreds of meals together, we\u2019ve laughed, we\u2019ve cried, we\u2019ve celebrated,\u201d she said through tears.<\/p>\n \u201cWhat an incredible and unforgettable journey we\u2019ve had,\u201d she added.<\/p>\n As the video ended, White told Sajak that she has \u201cenjoyed every minute\u201d knowing him.<\/p>\n \u201cAs this chapter of our lives is coming to an end, I know you\u2019ll still be close by,\u201d she concluded. \u201cYou\u2019re like a brother to me and I consider you a true lifelong friend who I will always adore. I love you, Pat.\u201d<\/p>\n As the sweet video message was over, cameras cut to Sajak and White standing on the\u00a0Wheel of Fortune\u00a0<\/em>stage beside one another, hugging as the crowd clapped.<\/p>\n All Sajak could say was, \u201cOh my.\u201d<\/p>\n In June 2023, the television personality\u00a0announced his retirement\u00a0from the show after its 41st season.<\/p>\n \u201cWell, the time has come. I\u2019ve decided that our 41st season, which begins in September, will be my last,\u201d he shared on Twitter. \u201cIt\u2019s been a wonderful ride, and I\u2019ll have more to say in the coming months.
