United States President Donald Trump has declared that he will issue a complete pardon to a sports icon who passed away in 2024.<\/p>\n

Trump had his hands full with Ukrainian leader Volodymyr Zelenskyy on Friday, having engaged in a tense exchange in the Oval Office and reportedly kicking the latter out of the White House before they could get down to agreeing on a minerals deal.<\/p>\n

But he still took some time to think of the late\u00a0Pete Rose<\/a>, who died last October and still isn\u2019t in the Baseball Hall of Fame despite being the\u00a0MLB<\/a>\u2019s all-time hits leader.<\/p>\n

Trump lashed out at the HOF after Rose\u2019s passing last year, claiming the former star paid the price after being disqualified for betting on\u00a0Cincinnati Reds<\/a>\u00a0games as a player and manager.<\/p>\n

The POTUS is still advocating for Rose to be inducted but, in the meantime, has\u00a0announced that he will issue a pardon<\/a>\u00a0for the baseball legend.<\/p>\n

Trump took to his Truth Social platform late Friday night to defend Rose, noting that the 17-time All-Star only bet on his team winning, never on himself or the other team.<\/p>\n

Given that Opening Day is fast approaching, Trump\u2019s statement on Rose and the Hall of Fame could be a major talking point over the coming weeks.<\/p>\n
