Ukraine President Volodymyr Zelenskyy has taken to social media with a statement following the events that unfolded at the White House on Friday.<\/p>\n

Zelenskyy was in Washington D.C. to meet U.S. President Donald Trump and other officials over a deal that would have seen America given access to Ukranian oil and other valuable minerals. But the whole thing was scuppered due to a tense exchange between the two leaders, with U.S. Vice President JD Vance also getting involved.<\/p>\n

Trump accused the Ukrainian President of\u00a0\u201cgambling with World War Three\u201d<\/em>\u00a0and told him he should be thankful for the assistance his country has been getting from America as the war with Russia would have been lost in\u00a0\u201ctwo weeks\u201d<\/em>\u00a0otherwise.<\/p>\n

The POTUS also advised his counterpart to find a way to make a peace deal with Russia, or the U.S. would withdraw all assistance.<\/p>\n

Having told Zelenskyy to his face that he was\u00a0\u201cnot nice\u201d\u00a0for refusing to show gratitude, Trump would take to his Truth Social platform to further criticize the Ukrainian leader.<\/p>\n

<\/em><\/em>Volodymyr Zelenskyy was also seen leaving the White House much earlier than planned, and reports claim he was kicked out.<\/p>\n

He has since taken to X, formerly known as Twitter, to\u00a0post a statement<\/a>\u00a0in which he expressed humility.<\/p>\n

\u201cThank you America, thank you for your support, thank you for this visit,\u201d he wrote. \u201cThank you\u00a0@POTUS, Congress, and the American people. Ukraine needs just and lasting peace, and we are working exactly for that.\u201d<\/p><\/blockquote>\n
