Stephen A. Smith had one question for Megyn Kelly after her scathing reaction to a false report about the Eagles turning down a visit to the White House after defeating the Chiefs in Super Bowl 2025 this month.<\/p>\n

During Tuesday\u2019s installment of \u201cThe Stephen A. Smith Show,\u201d<\/a>\u00a0the \u201cFirst Take\u201d host asked, \u201cWas that necessary, though?\u201d<\/p>\n

His question came one day after the political commentator told the Eagles to \u201cGO F YOURSELVES\u201d in an X post, which was a response\u00a0to a report by The U.S. Sun<\/a>\u00a0that alleged a member of Philadelphia\u2019s ownership and an unamed player would refuse to go to the White House if the team received an invite.<\/p>\n

The piece was published on Feb. 6 \u2014 three days before the Eagles topped the Chiefs in New Orleans, 40-22.<\/p>\n

Kelly acknowledged Monday that the White House\u00a0denied the report<\/a>\u00a0in a separate\u00a0post on X<\/a>.<\/p>\n

\u201cReally? They ain\u2019t feeling Trump. So what?\u201d Smith said Tuesday. \u201c74 million plus people wasn\u2019t feeling Trump. F them too? Come on, Megyn.<\/p>\n

\u201cYou don\u2019t need to do that. It\u2019s just not necessary. And by the way, if any team was justified in not wanting to show up to the White House\u2026 it would be the Philadelphia Eagles.\u201d<\/p>\n

The Eagles did not accept their invitation to the White House during Trump\u2019s first presidential term after they won the\u00a0Super Bowl\u00a0in 2018.<\/p>\n

Trump then rescinded the team\u2019s invitation a day before their visit due to\u00a0a national anthem dispute<\/a>\u00a0\u2014 as he said at the time that some members of the Super Bowl-winning roster \u201cdisagree with their president because he insists that they proudly stand for the national anthem, hand on heart.\u201d<\/p>\n

At the time, reports said many players refused the invitation.<\/p>\n

Smith, who has been a guest on Kelly\u2019s Sirius XM show, added he\u2019s a fan of Kelly but disagreed with how she reacted to the report.<\/p>\n

On Tuesday, Trump said the Eagles will be invited to the White House after their Super Bowl 2025 domination.<\/p>\n

\u201cThey will be. We haven\u2019t yet, but we will be,\u201d\u00a0Trump said<\/a>\u00a0of the team\u2019s invitation. \u201cI thought it was a great performance by them. Absolutely, they\u2019ll be extended that invitation\u2026 We\u2019ll do that right away\u2026 They deserve to be down here and we hope to see them.\u201d<\/p>\n
