Since returning to office last month, US President Donald Trump has made some massive changes.<\/p>\n

As of yesterday (20 February)\u00a0Trump<\/a>\u00a0had signed 73\u00a0executive orders<\/a>\u00a0– the most in a president’s first 100 days in more than 40 years – and it doesn’t look like he’ll be slowing down any time soon.<\/p>\n

More recently, the 78-year-old has turned his hand to interior design, removing an ‘iconic’ piece of furniture from the White House.<\/p>\n

Trump has revealed that he’s removed the Resolute Desk from the Oval Office.<\/p>\n

This desk, which was used by his predecessors Joe Biden and\u00a0Barack Obama,<\/a>\u00a0was crafted from the British exploration ship the HMS Resolute and was gifted to President Rutherford Haye by Queen Victoria in 1880.<\/p>\n

The Resolute Desk has been used by almost every\u00a0US<\/a>\u00a0leader in history.<\/p>\n

Now, Trump has opted to bring in a ‘beautiful but temporary’ replacement, the C&O Desk, while it undergoes refurbishments.<\/p>\n

Writing about the decision on Truth Social, he wrote: “A President, after election, gets a choice of 1 in 7 desks,” (in reality, they get a choice of one in six).<\/p>\n

“This desk, the C&O, which is also well-known and was used by President George H.W. Bush and others, has been temporarily installed in the White House while the Resolute Desk is being lightly refinished\u2014a vital job. This is a beautiful, but temporary replacement!”<\/p>\n

The decision to swap desks comes just days after\u00a0Elon Musk’s<\/a>\u00a04-year-old son, X, appeared to pick his nose and rub the desk during a Q&A session about the Department of Government Efficiency or\u00a0DOGE.<\/a><\/p>\n

The youngster, who has the rather unfortunate full name of X \u00c6 A-12, fidgeted, babbled and looked completely bored when he joined his dad at work.<\/p>\n

And, at one point, he even wiggled his finger around in his nostril before seemingly wiping it on the iconic desk.<\/p>\n

After the New York Post\u00a0shared<\/a>\u00a0the news of the Resolute Desk’s refurbishments alongside a snap of X digging for gold on\u00a0Instagram,<\/a>\u00a0users were quick to take to the comments to share their opinions.<\/p>\n

One person wrote: “I noticed the top was looking warn out when he was doing all his order signings. It was due with or without the kids snot.”<\/p>\n

Another said: “I personally don’t like people who bring their kids everywhere. If your kid isn’t extremely well behaved and silent, why are you bringing them to a work meeting?” And a third joked: “I would\u2019ve got rid of it too.”<\/p>\n

The President is yet to reveal the reason for the desk’s refurbishments.<\/p>\n
