The fiery hosts at ABC News\u2019 \u201cThe View\u201d have faced pressure to dial back their anti-President Trump rhetoric \u2013 leading to tension in front of the cameras, The Post has learned.<\/p>\n

While behind the scenes, \u201cmorale is low\u201d among staffers after layoffs and unpopular cost-cutting moves, multiple sources told The Post.<\/p>\n

One source close to the show\u2019s co-hosts \u2014 Whoopi Goldberg, Joy Behar, Sunny Hostin, Sara Haines, Alyssa Farah Griffin and Ana Navarro \u2014 said the fear and loathing is partly because Brian Teta, executive producer of the daytime gab-fest, spoke to staffers about \u201cgoing easy\u201d on Trump-related commentary in the days leading up to the 47th president taking the oath of office.<\/p>\n

The directive followed an embarrassing moment in November when the co-hosts\u00a0were forced to issue four \u201clegal notes\u201d<\/a>\u00a0or disclaimers during a broadcast while discussing allegations leveled at several of Trump\u2019s cabinet nominees.<\/p>\n

Since then, the outspoken hosts have been somewhat more careful, with Haines admitting that she and her fellow panelists are\u00a0out-of-touch with a large portion of Americans<\/a>\u00a0because none voted for Trump.<\/p>\n

More recently,\u00a0Griffin admitted she agreed with some of Trump\u2019s policies<\/a>, while trying to convince Goldberg to find a middle ground with Trump supporters.<\/p>\n

The Post previously reported that post-election,\u00a0ABC News execs were holding \u201chigh-level meetings\u201d;<\/a>\u00a0over bringing in conservative voices to balance the drumbeat of negativity toward Trump by the current hosts.<\/p>\n

A source close to the show denied the hosts have been ordered to tempter their views.<\/p>\n

\u201cNo one holds back their opinions on \u2018The View,\u2019\u201d the source told The Post. \u201cIt\u2019s a place for\u00a0dynamic conversations from diverse points of view.\u00a0\u00a0That\u2019s what makes it so popular.\u201d<\/p>\n

ABC News declined to comment.<\/p>\n

The show has managed to hold its own in the ratings since Trump was elected in November, averaging roughly 2.6 million total viewers in the last four weeks.<\/p>\n

Nevertheless, \u201cThe View\u201d staffers remain rattled after Teta quietly laid off at least nine workers \u2014 including two senior female producers, Jamie Hammer and Audrey Jones, one insider told The Post.<\/p>\n

\u201cPeople were shocked that he\u2019d fire such experienced, well-respected producers,\u201d the source said. \u201cMorale is low.\u201d<\/p>\n

The firings were part of parent company Disney\u2019s\u00a0wider cost-cutting moves in October<\/a>, but \u201ceverybody is waiting for the other shoe to drop,\u201d the source added. \u201cThere\u2019s a lot of anxiety even though they just went through layoffs.\u201d<\/p>\n

The turmoil follows\u00a0Disney executives\u2019 decision to pay out $16 million to Trump to settle a defamation lawsuit<\/a>\u00a0that the president filed against anchor George Stephanopoulos, who\u00a0wrongly asserted\u00a0<\/a>during an interview with Rep. Nancy Mace (R-SC) that Trump was found liable for raping writer E. Jean Carroll.<\/p>\n

He was liable for sexual abuse, not rape, due to specific legal definitions in New York.<\/p>\n

Meanwhile, the outspoken hosts of the popular ABC program are chafing over having to share a studio and dressing room with Tamron Hall\u2019s eponymous show in the network\u2019s new cramped headquarters.<\/p>\n

A source close to the situation said they are upset because their guests must share a dressing room with \u201cTamron Hall\u201d guests \u2014 and they also have to treat the set as a shared space.<\/p>\n

In practical terms, this means that staffers can\u2019t leave their belongings on the set overnight as they had at their old digs.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe View\u201d was quietly hit with a round of layoffs late last year, putting staffers on edge amid rumors that more cuts are coming at the network.ABC<\/span><\/figcaption><\/figure>\n

The person added that there have also been clashes over the taping schedule between the two shows, which sometimes can overlap with each other.<\/p>\n

\u201cTamron Hall thinks she\u2019s Oprah. She is very demanding,\u201d the source said. \u201cShe doesn\u2019t realize she\u2019s playing second fiddle to \u2018The View.’\u201d<\/p>\n

A source familiar with both productions said: \u201cKudos to both productions for seamlessly working together to bring our viewers several\u00a0hours of television each week.\u201d<\/p>\n

ABC News has moved the majority of its shows downtown to New York\u2019s Hudson Square neighborhood \u2014 which staffers call \u201cno man\u2019s land\u201d \u2014 from the Upper West Side, as previously\u00a0reported by Page Six<\/a>.<\/p>\n

\u201cThere are not a lot of desks. People just get drawers, and they are assigned lockers,\u201d the insider added. \u201cThe new office is very basic. There isn\u2019t enough space or offices. There are no executive suites, just regular-sized offices.\u201d<\/p>\n

A network source disputed the claim, saying: \u201cThere are plenty of desks and space to accommodate everyone. The building is gorgeous.\u201d<\/p>\n
