Donald Trump’s granddaughter Kai has been accused of being a ‘DEI golfer’, after she’s set to take on Tiger Wood’s son.<\/p>\n

The president<\/a>\u00a0is a keen golfer, having opened his own course – Trump International Golf Club – in 2012.<\/p>\n

The club is set in Palm Beach, Florida, and is set to have cost $45 million to construct.<\/p>\n

And it seems Trump’s love for golf has been passed down two generations, as\u00a0his granddaughter Kai<\/a>\u00a0is also keen on the\u00a0sport<\/a>.<\/p>\n

The 17-year-old recently committed to play women’s golf at the University of Miami, and already runs a highly successful YouTube channel with over a million subscribers, documenting her journey.<\/p>\n

It was announced earlier this week that Kai is set to take on Tiger Woods’ son Charlie Woods, in a tournament for the nation’s top junior golfers.<\/p>\n

Tiger Woods is a close family friend of the Trumps, as the two could be seen playing a round of golf together just before the president’s inauguration in January.<\/p>\n

Kai and Charlie will be among 60 expected competitors in the invite-only competition.<\/p>\n

But many people on\u00a0social media<\/a>\u00a0are accusing the 17-year-old of being a ‘DEI golfer’.<\/p>\n

DEI (diversity, equality, and inclusion) programs were introduced by the\u00a0Biden<\/a>\u00a0Administration, to create fairer opportunities for marginalised communities within\u00a0America<\/a>.<\/p>\n

However, Trump previously described it as an ‘illegal and immoral discrimination program’, which is a ‘public waste’.<\/p>\n

After being sworn into office in January, the president has promised to defund DEI programs.<\/p>\n

Kai Trump was brought into the conversation, as one person online said: “She’s a DEI golfer.”<\/p>\n

Another agreed, adding: “Kai Trump is definitely DEI, she’s only there because of his name.”<\/p>\n

A third wrote: “DEI picked to be alongside an actual earned position.”<\/p>\n

But others in the comments defended the influencer, writing: “Someone has absolutely no idea what DEI is.”<\/p>\n

Another said: “Awesome! Both of these young adults are great talented golfers.”<\/p>\n

Other people described Kai as a ‘nepo baby’, accusing her of only competing in the tournament because of her last name.<\/p>\n

One said: “I guess Nepo Golfers is a thing now.”<\/p>\n

Another agreed, adding: “Grandpa owns the fields.”<\/p>\n

Kai made herself known during Trump’s election campaign, and even gave a speech at the Republican National Convention in Milwaukee.<\/p>\n

“I’m speaking today to share the side of my grandpa that people don’t often see,” she said.<\/p>\n
