A university student has been booted out of her presidential role on campus after making controversial comments about Donald Trump’s son.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Kaya Walker, the now-former president of\u00a0New York<\/a>\u00a0University’s College Republicans chapter, has been driven out and forced to resign after her comments about the real president’s son,\u00a0Barron Trump<\/a>, came to light.<\/p>\n

Ms Walker was the subject of some fierce backlash among her Republican peers after she\u00a0spoke<\/a>\u00a0to Vanity Fair about President Trump’s 18-year-old son.<\/p>\n

She told the magazine that Barron was ‘sort of like an oddity on campus’, adding: “He goes to class, he goes home.”<\/p>\n

The College Republicans of America (CRA) were one of dozens to slam the student’s comments on\u00a0social media<\/a>, writing that although what was written was ‘unfairly framed’, they still found what Ms Walker said to be ‘inappropriate’ and in conflict with its ‘values and principles’.<\/p>\n

The NYU College Republicans of America prompted Walker to resign (nyucollegerepublicans.org<\/a>)<\/cite><\/p>\n<\/div>\n

In a bid to extend the olive branch even further, CRA President Will Donahue publicly invited Barron to join the CRA.<\/p>\n

He said in a statement on\u00a0Twitter<\/a>: “Barron Trump represents the future of the conservative movement, and we would be honored to have him join the College Republicans of America.”<\/p>\n

Mr Donahue continued: “Strong leadership is built on resilience, courage, and the humility to rise above petty hostility – qualifies that Barron has already demonstrated.<\/p>\n

The unprecedented invitation comes as the CRA broke 100 years of its own tradition by endorsing\u00a0Donald Trump\u00a0<\/a>as president and gathering more than one million voter contracts across elections and ‘sending hundreds of our students wherever the Trump campaign needed them’.<\/p>\n
