Sebastian Stan took a unique approach when preparing for his role as Donald Trump in\u00a0The Apprentice<\/em>.<\/p>\n

The actor opened up about his role on the BAFTAs red carpet yesterday, where a host of celebs were attending to celebrate some of the best in film.<\/p>\n

The annual ceremony saw a plethora of\u00a0TV and film<\/a>\u00a0greats up for prestigious awards, including\u00a0The Apprentice,\u00a0<\/em>which was nominated for three BAFTAs in total.<\/p>\n

The flick, directed by Ali Abbasi, examines Trump’s rise as a real estate businessman in New York City.<\/p>\n

Despite not taking away any wins, Stan – who portrays\u00a0Trump<\/a>\u00a0in the film – was happy to speak about his experience preparing for the difficult role.<\/p>\n

And while there are many ways to try and get inside the mind of the president, Stan’s approach was pretty alternative.<\/p>\n

The Apprentice failed to take home any awards 2025 BAFTAs (Samir Hussein\/WireImage)<\/cite><\/div>\n

Speaking on the red carpet, the actor said: “I had to sort of lock myself in a room and figure out who this person was, because I don’t think there’s much person left.”<\/p>\n

Many viewers in the comments spoke highly of Stan’s portrayal of Trump, so it seems as though the unique approach had the desired effect.<\/p>\n

One said: “He was fantastic in it. I’m glad he got recognised for this.”<\/p>\n

Another said: “Brilliant performance from Sebastian Stan.”<\/p>\n

But it wasn’t the only time Trump was mentioned throughout the night, as host David\u00a0Tennant made a fair few gags about the president<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Despite this, some didn’t make the actual broadcast, as the BBC noted it ‘had to make’ edits.<\/p>\n

Trump was mentioned repeatedly at the BAFTAs (ANDREW CABALLERO-REYNOLDS \/ AFP)<\/cite><\/div>\n

Tennant reportedly joked that it was unlikely that Trump had seen\u00a0The Apprentice\u00a0<\/em>because ‘it\u2019s a 15 [the film\u2019s UK rating] and it\u2019s not on Nickelodeon’.<\/p>\n

He added: “Donald Trump. I\u2019m worried. I\u2019ve said his name three times. It\u2019s like Beetlejuice – I have summoned him.”<\/p>\n

But not all of the Trump jokes were edited out, as viewers witnessed Tennant say his hair was ‘the boldest architecture’ in film – more so than\u00a0The Brutalist.<\/em><\/p>\n

He also referred to the president as a ‘villain’ as he compared him to ‘Nosferatu<\/em>, Hugh Grant in\u00a0Heretic<\/em>, and most chilling of all, [Wallace and Gromit<\/em>‘s] Feather McGraw.’<\/p>\n

A BBC spokesperson said: “The nature of the show is that it\u2019s broadcast with a short delay, and edits have to be made due to time constraints.”<\/p>\n
