Tom Hanks<\/a>\u2018 portrayal of a MAGA supporter during\u00a0SNL<\/em>\u2018s 50th anniversary television special didn\u2019t go over well with Trump fans.<\/h2>\n

A star-studded lineup of former and current\u00a0SNL<\/em>\u00a0(Saturday Night Live<\/em>) cast members, celebrities, and musical guests gathered in New York City to celebrate the show\u2019s 50th anniversary.<\/p>\n

SNL50: The Anniversary Celebration<\/em>\u00a0brought out stars like Steve Martin, Eddie Murphy, Will Ferrell, Meryl Streep, Jack Nicholson, Miley Cyrus, Alec Baldwin, Adam Sandler and more. But it was Tom Hanks\u2019 appearance that had everyone talking.<\/p>\n

Hanks, who has hosted the weekly comedy show 10 times, took part in a parody skit of a game show called \u201cBlack Jeopardy.\u201d In the bit, the \u201cSleepless in Seattle\u201d actor portrays a white Trump supporter named Doug, who is wearing a MAGA hat, a character he first introduced on the show in 2016.<\/p>\n

After answering a question about Dana Carvey\u2019s iconic\u00a0SNL<\/em>\u00a0character, The Church Lady, Hanks says,\u00a0\u201cSpeaking of church, can I say something? If more folks went to church, we wouldn\u2019t be in this mess we\u2019re in now.\u201d<\/strong><\/p>\n

The black host, played by Kenan Thompson, says he agrees and reaches out a hand to Hanks, but Hanks\u2019 character acts afraid to shake it.<\/p>\n

Tom Hanks\u2019 skit was called \u201ctone deaf\u201d and \u201cdisgusting.\u201d<\/h2>\n

Many who opposed Hanks\u2019 skit were people of color who voted for Donald Trump in the recent election.<\/p>\n

\u201c@tomhanks<\/a>, let me introduce myself \u2026 I\u2019m 22 years old. I\u2019ve been black all of my life. MOST IMPORTANTLY, I\u2019m a proud supporter of Donald Trump. The only racist political party in America is the Democrat Party, the founders of the KKK. MAGA welcomes ALL,\u201d<\/em>\u00a0one Trump supporter wrote on X.<\/p>\n

Another viewer pointed out that \u201cTrump\u2019s 2024 election win was the LEAST racially divisive American election since 1964.\u201d<\/p>\n
