Kid Rock<\/span>Kendrick Turned DEI On It’s Head for Super Bowl Halftime<\/span><\/h2>\n

Bill Maher<\/strong><\/a>\u00a0has interesting guest fellows — case in point,\u00a0Kid Rock<\/strong><\/a>, who called out\u00a0Jay-Z<\/strong><\/a>\u00a0and the NFL for a Halftime show for being pretty much exclusionary — of white entertainers.<\/p>\n

Kid came out of the gate saying\u00a0Kendrick Lamar<\/strong><\/a>\u00a0wasn’t his cup of tea, but he has mad respect for him because he’s unapologetic about his craft. Kendrick doesn’t care if a swath of the country isn’t into him or even doesn’t like him … he does what he does, just like K.R. Kid Rock celebrated Kendrick, saying he doesn’t give a “frog’s fat ass” what people think.<\/p>\n

But, then things turned … Kid Rock said were it not for\u00a0Colin Kaepernick<\/strong><\/a>\u00a0taking a knee, Kendrick would never have ended up center stage at the Super Bowl.<\/p>\n
Kid Rock said, \u201cI\u2019ve heard nobody answer this question: how did he get that gig? Jay-Z. What happened there? I think Jay-Z and Kendrick Lamar should both send Colin Kaepernick a Bundt cake and a six-pack of beer and a \u2018thank you\u2019 note with a bunch of money in it, because without him kneeling and getting everyone\u2019s panties in a bunch over the anthem, self-included, I don\u2019t think that happens.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/section>\n

And then, Kid R. zeroed in, saying this was a case of D.E.I. turned on its head … \u201cIt\u2019s like all Black people or all people of color speaking to his crowd in the hood, Black people. It was like the most exclusive [exclusionary] thing ever and I\u2019m like, \u2018Fuck yeah, that\u2019s awesome.\u2019 I\u2019m laughing my ass off.\u201d<\/div>\n
