President Harry S. Truman famously had a sign reading\u00a0\u201cThe Buck Stops Here\u201d<\/a>\u00a0on his desk at the White House.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

Based on comments President\u00a0Donald Trump<\/a>\u00a0made on Wednesday, it\u2019s clear he thinks the buck actually stops with his predecessor, former President\u00a0Joe Biden<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Trump initially seemed optimistic that Labor Department stats would show he\u2019s already had a positive effect on the economy \u2015 despite numerous reports suggesting\u00a0his proposed policies will worsen inflation.<\/a><\/p>\n<\/div>\n

\n

\u201cInterest Rates should be lowered, something which would go hand in hand with upcoming Tariffs!!!,\u201d he\u00a0posted on his Truth Social platform<\/a>\u00a0Wednesday. \u201cLets Rock and Roll, America!!!\u201d<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

But after the Labor Department announced that\u00a0the consumer price index in January increased 3%<\/a>\u00a0from 12 months earlier and rose from a three-and-a-half-year low of\u00a02.4% in September<\/a>, Trump took to\u00a0Truth Social<\/a>\u00a0to\u00a0publicly avoid any responsibility<\/a>\u00a0for the price hikes.<\/p>\n

\u201cBIDEN INFLATION UP!\u201d he posted.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

Although Trump was only president from Jan. 20 on, he made it clear during the 2024 election that he planned to\u00a0place massive tariffs on many imported items<\/a>\u00a0\u2015 which inevitably increases prices for consumers.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

Trump\u2019s literal buck-passing did not go unnoticed on social media.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n
