It’s not been a great time for Kansas City Chiefs star Travis Kelce recently following his 40-22 loss against the Philadelphia Eagles on Sunday (9 February).<\/p>\n

Not only did his\u00a0team<\/a>\u00a0lose the eagerly-anticipated final, but he also had to deal with his girlfriend\u00a0Taylor Swift<\/a>\u00a0receiving a fair bit of abuse during the game after\u00a0a crowd erupted into a chorus of boos when the jumbotron panned to her.<\/a><\/p>\n

And, as if things couldn’t get any worse, the\u00a0president<\/a>\u00a0on the United States,\u00a0Donald Trump<\/a>, took it upon himself to poke fun out of\u00a0the situation which left Swift visibly upset<\/a>\u00a0– something which seemingly didn’t go down well with\u00a0Kelce<\/a>.<\/p>\n

A source close to Kelce\u00a0told<\/a>\u00a0the MailOnline: “Travis was aware of Taylor getting booed and he felt helpless. Seeing the look on her face got to him.<\/p>\n

“He always protects her and it broke his heart. He was already having a tough night and the fact that the stadium was predominantly Eagles fans didn’t help. Travis knows that this hurt her and anyone can see this.”<\/p>\n

The source continued to claim: “It\u2019s clear to many that the Eagles fans feel she is a traitor of sorts – being from\u00a0Pennsylvania<\/a>\u00a0and even wearing\u00a0Eagles gear<\/a>\u00a0prior to dating him.”<\/p>\n

They also responded to\u00a0Trump’s response to Taylor being booed.<\/a><\/p>\n

The 78-year-old Republican leader, whose appearance marked the first time a sitting\u00a0American<\/a>\u00a0president has attended the major sporting event, shared a post to his\u00a0social media<\/a>\u00a0platform, Truth Social, that said: “Trump gets massive cheers at the Super Bowl while Taylor Swift gets booed.<\/p>\n

“The world is healing!”<\/p>\n

He added in a follow-up post: “The only one that had a tougher night than the Kansas City Chiefs was Taylor Swift. She got BOOED out of the Stadium.<\/p>\n

“MAGA is very unforgiving!”<\/p>\n

Responding to such comments, the MailOnline source continued: “Travis believes that it was unnecessary for Trump to take a dig at her especially after he voiced that he was honoured for a president to be there.”<\/p>\n
