On Sunday (9 February), the world watched on as the Kansas City Chiefs took on the Philadelphia Eagles at one of the United States’ biggest sporting events of the year.<\/p>\n

The\u00a0Eagles<\/a>\u00a0ended up taking home the\u00a0Super Bowl<\/a>\u00a0victory against the Chiefs with a staggering 40 – 22 win – much to the dismay of\u00a0Taylor Swift<\/a>\u00a0who was in the stands cheering on her boyfriend\u00a0Travis Kelce<\/a>, a tight end for the losing team.<\/p>\n

At one point during the match,\u00a0Taylor seemingly got booed by the crowd<\/a>\u00a0and fans reckon they’ve spotted her three-word response to the awkward ordeal.<\/p>\n

The 35-year-old ‘Cruel Summer’\u00a0singer<\/a>\u00a0was joined by rapper Ice Spice and the Haim sisters at New Orleans’ Caesars Superdome.<\/p>\n

As she was shown on the jumbotron, it\u00a0prompted a chorus of boos from the crowd.<\/a><\/p>\n

Thankfully, she didn’t seem too bothered, initially looking slightly confused before flashing a quick smirk and giving a side-eye.<\/p>\n

Responding to the boos, fans reckoned she appeared to ask: “What\u2019s going on?”<\/p>\n

“She said ‘what\u2019s going on’,” declared one\u00a0social media<\/a>\u00a0user.<\/p>\n

Swifties all over have since rushed in to support Taylor with one writing: “God forbid a woman watches sport AND SUPPORTS HER BOYFRIEND??? Tf.”<\/p>\n

Taylor Swift was booed by the crowd during yesterday’s Super Bowl (X\/@SamuelBrownRBT)<\/cite><\/div>\n

“She handled that with real class. A true queen,” praised a second, while a third penned: “Notice how she didn\u2019t care?? This is embarrassing, boys.”<\/p>\n

A fourth hit out: “What do they think they accomplished? Like she doesn’t seem to even care about them. Unbothered queen.”<\/p>\n

“I think they need to calm down\u2026” quipped another.<\/p>\n

And a final social media user added: “Look, I’m not a fan of Taylor at all and I find it weird that they always focus on her during games.. but… she isn’t controlling the camera. She has just as much right to be there as everyone else.”<\/p>\n

Even tennis champion Serena Williams got involved, tweeting: “I love you @taylorswift13 don’t listen to those booo!!”<\/p>\n

Others couldn’t help but note the stark contrast to the reaction received by\u00a0President Donald Trump<\/a>\u00a0– the first sitting president to attend the Super Bowl – with one saying: “Trump gets cheered by #SuperBowlLIX crowd and Taylor Swift is booed.”<\/p>\n

Trump himself later responded to the situation<\/a>, sharing a post to his social media platform, Truth Social, that said: “Trump gets massive cheers at the Super Bowl while Taylor Swift gets booed.<\/p>\n

“The world is healing!”<\/p>\n

The camera panned to the 78-year-old during Jon Batiste’s rendition of the national anthem.<\/p>\n

One fan wondered: “Did they cheer or boo Trump? Difficult to tell.”<\/p>\n

New\u00a0Lilo & Stitch\u00a0<\/em>trailer sees Stitch run riot in stadium<\/strong><\/h3>\n

Like always, there were some major new movie trailers premiering during the game including\u00a0Jurassic Park Rebirth, M3GAN 2.0\u00a0<\/em>and\u00a0Mission Impossible – The Final Reckoning.<\/em><\/p>\n

By far the most popular though was the new ad for\u00a0Lilo & Stitch,\u00a0<\/em>which saw the adorable little blue alien cause absolute chaos in the Super Bowl stadium.<\/p>\n

Kendrick Lamar’s epic Drake diss during halftime show<\/strong><\/h3>\n

There was a lot of talk as to whether Lamar would perform his Grammy-winning ‘Not Like Us’ in light of Drake’s lawsuit. As we all suspected he would,\u00a0he went ahead\u00a0<\/a>– but censored the track’s most controversial line which called Drake a ‘certified paedophile’.<\/p>\n

Lamar was also spotted wearing a necklace with a massive ‘a’ on it, a reference to his brutal ‘Not Like Us’ quip where he says of Drake and his team: “Tryna strike a chord and it’s probably A minor.”<\/p>\n

Samuel L. Jackson, dressed up as Uncle Sam, made a surprise appearance as Lamar’s emcee. The way he butted in by accusing Lamar of being ‘too ghetto’ was widely assumed to be a reference to a group of Republicans who wrote a letter to the Greater New Orleans Sports Foundation, demanding Lamar’s halftime show not be too ‘lewd’ or ‘offensive’.<\/p>\n

Serena Williams’ surprise appearance<\/strong><\/h3>\n

One person few people expected to turn up during Kendrick Lamar’s set was Serena Williams, with the tennis star doing a ‘crip walk’ dance at the corner of the stage.<\/p>\n

Not only was her appearance significant because she’s rumoured to have dated Drake, but she was also widely criticised for doing the same dance at Wimbledon to celebrate winning an Olympic gold medal in 2021. Many said the backlash against her was racist.<\/p>\n

Williams wrote after the Super Bowl: “Man, I did not crip walk like that at Wimbledon. Ooh, I would\u2019ve been fined.”<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
