Travis Kelce had a pretty heartbreaking response to Taylor Swift being savagely booed at the eagerly-anticipated Super Bowl final on Sunday (9 February).<\/p>\n

It wasn’t a good day for 35-year-old\u00a0Travis<\/a>, who plays for the Kansas City Chiefs, as his\u00a0team<\/a>\u00a0got thrashed by the Philadelphia Eagles 40-22.<\/p>\n

And, to make matters worse, at one point during the game, his girlfriend\u00a0Taylor<\/a>\u00a0was met with\u00a0an eruption of boos when she appeared up on the jumbotron.<\/a><\/p>\n

While the 35-year-old ‘Karma’\u00a0singer<\/a>\u00a0handled the incredibly awkward situation like a pro<\/a>, it’s clear she was made to feel super uncomfortable and confused by the ordeal, hence why she mouthed: “Wait…what is going on?”,\u00a0according to a lip reader.<\/a><\/p>\n

And Trav seemingly wasn’t too happy either with\u00a0the jeering towards his girlfriend<\/a>, as a source close to him reportedly\u00a0told<\/a>\u00a0MailOnline: “Travis was aware of Taylor getting booed and he felt helpless. Seeing the look on her face got to him.<\/p>\n

“He always protects her and it broke his heart. He was already having a tough night and the fact that the stadium was predominantly Eagles fans didn’t help. Travis knows that this hurt her and anyone can see this.”<\/p>\n

The source continued to claim: “It\u2019s clear to many that the Eagles fans feel she is a traitor of sorts – being from\u00a0Pennsylvania<\/a>\u00a0and even wearing\u00a0Eagles gear<\/a>\u00a0prior to dating him.”<\/p>\n

They also responded to\u00a0president Donald Trump’s response to Taylor being booed.<\/a><\/p>\n

The 78-year-old Republican leader, whose appearance marked the first time a sitting\u00a0American<\/a>\u00a0president has attended the major\u00a0sporting event.<\/a>\u00a0shared a post to his social media platform, Truth Social, that said: “Trump gets massive cheers at the Super Bowl while Taylor Swift gets booed.<\/p>\n

“The world is healing!”<\/p>\n

Responding to such comments, the MailOnline source continued: “Travis believes that it was unnecessary for\u00a0Trump<\/a>\u00a0to take a dig at her especially after he voiced that he was honoured for a president to be there.”<\/p>\n

They concluded: “After Taylor being shut out for a\u00a0Grammy<\/a>\u00a0and Travis losing the biggest game of the year it just hasn\u2019t been a good week for them.<\/p>\n

“But he knows that even though this is not a happy ending to the season having her love gives him so much joy.”<\/p>\n

Swifties, however, were quick to defend Taylor following the ordeal, with one X user writing: “God forbid a woman watches sport AND SUPPORTS HER\u00a0BOYFRIEND<\/a>??? Tf.”<\/p>\n

“She handled that with real class. A true queen,” praised a second, while a third said: “Notice how she didn\u2019t care?? This is embarrassing, boys.”<\/p>\n
