NFL fans preparing to sit down and watch Super Bowl LIX reckon they have stumbled across a conspiracy theory. But it’s one that has divided the community as the big\u00a0sporting<\/a>\u00a0showdown arrives.<\/p>\n

And it all comes down to the\u00a0NFL<\/a>\u00a0seemingly knowing who was going to be playing in the game, happening at the Caesars Superdome in New Orleans, from the very beginning. Or so we’re told.<\/p>\n

Yes, we’re talking about the\u00a0Super Bowl<\/a>\u00a0logo controversy which has reared its head for 2025 as the\u00a0Kansas City Chiefs<\/a>\u00a0and Philadelphia Eagles look to battle it out for the Lombardi Trophy on Sunday (9 February).<\/p>\n

All eyes will be on Patrick Mahomes and Travis Kelce and if they can win a third Super Bowl in a row – a ‘three-peat’ as it’s known in the sporting world – with the latter’s pop star girlfriend\u00a0Taylor Swift<\/a>\u00a0hoping it’ll be a trio of victories she can celebrate with her partner.<\/p>\n

But over on the wonderful world of\u00a0Reddit<\/a>, chatter has started around the colours used in the official logo for Super Bowl LIX; something that was decided upon long before the teams were known.<\/p>\n

Taking over the Pat McAfee Show Official subreddit, NFL fans were busy chatting through the conspiracy about the colours used.<\/p>\n

That’s because, once again, the main colours you can see in the logo mirror those worn by the two teams taking part, with the Chiefs’ red and the Eagles’ green forming the majority of the design.<\/p>\n

It’s not the first time the colours have matched up, either, hence the growth of such a conspiracy. Two years ago when the Chiefs beat the Eagles the colours were also green and red, albeit different shades of this year’s creation.<\/p>\n

And with the internet being the internet, some claim the NFL is involves in a (baseless) secret plan to maximise its own back pockets by deciding all of this in advance. Yes, really.<\/p>\n

The problem with the conspiracy, outside of being totally baseless, is that it had a major blip in 2024.<\/p>\n

With a purple and orange design, you might have been thinking we could have had the Baltimore Ravens face off against the Detroit Lions.<\/p>\n

Instead, we had the red and gold of the San Francisco 49ers up against the red and white of the Chiefs. Unlucky, lads.<\/p>\n
