President Trump and pop icon Taylor Swift are on the same side this Super Bowl.<\/p>\n

When asked who he thinks will win\u00a0Super Bowl LIX, Trump begrudgingly revealed his prediction that the\u00a0Kansas City Chiefs would prevail over the Philadelphia Eagles.<\/p>\n

\u201cI hate to do it,\u201d Trump, 78, said when pressed by Fox News\u2019 Bret Baier during a pregame interview\u00a0about his prediction. \u201cI just say that I watched this great quarterback who has, by the way, a phenomenal wife, okay. She\u2019s a Trump fan, she\u2019s a MAGA fan. So I happen to love her okay.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cI guess you have to say that when a quarterback wins as much as he\u2019s won, I have to go with Kansas City \u2014 I have to go with Kansas City. At the same time, Philadelphia is just fantastic.\u201d<\/p>\n

Kansas City Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes\u2019 wife Brittany,\u00a029,\u00a0who just gave birth\u00a0to her third child\u00a0last month, has made favorable social media posts about the president, including liking a post about the Republican Party platform over the summer.<\/p>\n

Ironically, Trump\u2019s kind words for the Kansas City Chiefs put him on the same side as Swift, 35, with whom he\u2019s feuded bitterly in the past. Swift backed both former President Joe Biden in the 2020 election and former Vice President Kamala Harris in the 2024 election.<\/p>\n

\u201cI HATE TAYLOR SWIFT!\u201d Trump\u00a0wrote on Truth Social<\/a>\u00a0in all caps, last year without an explanation.<\/p>\n

Swift has been dating Kansas City Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce, hence why the eastern Pennsylvania native is rooting for them.<\/p>\n

\u201c[Harris]\u00a0is\u00a0a steady-handed, gifted leader and I believe we can accomplish so much more in this country if we are led by calm and not chaos,\u201d Swift told her 282 million Instagram followers last year.<\/p>\n

Conservatives had been rattled by Swift\u2019s efforts to boost Democrats, given her tremendous sway within pop culture and with scores of devoted fans. Last year, ahead of\u00a0Super Bowl LVIII,\u00a0rumors swirled in MAGA social media<\/a>\u00a0that she intended to use her appearance at the game to buoy Biden.<\/p>\n

She ultimately didn\u2019t make her 2024 endorsement until many months later, long after Biden was out of the race.<\/p>\n

Swift isn\u2019t Trump\u2019s only adversary who is making an appearance in\u00a0Caesar\u2019s Superdome in New Orleans.<\/p>\n

Former first lady and diehard Eagles fan Jill Biden will be there as well.<\/p>\n

Trump is the first sitting US president to attend a Super Bowl game.<\/p>\n

\u201cI\u2019m very surprised to hear that, I would have assumed many presidents came,\u201d Trump explained to Baier. \u201cBut, I think just the spirit of the country \u2026 I thought it would be a good thing for the country to have the president.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cIt\u2019s an iconic day. It\u2019s going to be a big game. Two great teams. And, let\u2019s see what happens.\u201d<\/p>\n

The Super Bowl is a rematch for the two teams who had squared off two years ago when the Birds lost to the Chiefs, who have won the last two times including against the San Francisco 49ers last year.<\/p>\n

\u201cI\u2019m a big fan of both teams,\u201d Trump said. \u201cPhiladelphia\u00a0has one of the greatest running backs\u00a0Saquon [Barkley]. You know\u00a0Saquon has an uncle who was a great fighter.\u201d<\/p>\n

Joining Trump on his trip to the Super Bowl will be his children Eric Trump, Ivanka Trump and her son, as well as Secretary of the Interior\u00a0Doug Burgum \u2014 along with Sens. Dave McCormick (R-Pa.), Lindsey Graham (R-SC), John Barrasso (R-Wyo.), Tim Scott (R-SC), Katie Britt (R-Ala.) Tommy Tuberville (R-Ala.)
