Deebo Samuel<\/a>\u2019s time with the\u00a0San Francisco 49ers<\/a> is officially over, as the team has given his agent permission to seek a trade<\/p>\n

Samuel has been the subject of exit rumors for the past year but stuck it out with the Niners after their heartbreaking loss to the\u00a0Kansas City Chiefs<\/a>\u00a0in the Super Bowl last February. It now appears that the 2024 season will be his last with the team.<\/p>\n

According to ESPN\u2019s\u00a0Adam Schefter<\/a>, the wide receiver and his agent, Tory Dandy, have been granted permission to find a trade partner.<\/p>\n

Deebo Samuel Requested A Trade At The End Of The Season<\/h2>\n

The player asked the team to trade him during the players\u2019 exit meetings at the end of the season, and he will be allowed to leave.<\/p>\n

\u201cIt was a hard conversation to have with Kyle (Shanahan) because of the relationship that we have,\u201d he said. \u201cBut I have to do what\u2019s best. I\u2019m more than thankful for the Niners giving me the opportunity of a lifetime, but now I think it\u2019s best that we find another team.\u201d<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

Samuel was a second-round pick by the 49ers in 2019 and was a first-team All-Pro and a Pro Bowler in 2021.<\/p>\n

He has made 331 catches for 4,792 yards and 22 touchdowns in 81 regular-season games, adding 46 receptions for 638 yards and two scores in the playoffs.<\/p>\n
