Mrs. McCaskey has served as the owner of the Bears since her father and team founder, George S. Halas, passed away on October 31, 1983.<\/em><\/p>\n<p><em>\u201cWhile we are sad, we are comforted knowing Virginia Halas McCaskey lived a long, full, faith-filled life and is now with the love of her life on earth,\u201d the family said.\u00a0 \u201cShe guided the Bears for four decades and based every business decision on what was best for Bears players, coaches, staff and fans.\u201d\u00a0<\/em><\/p>\n<div class=\"google-auto-placed ap_container\"><ins class=\"adsbygoogle adsbygoogle-noablate\" data-ad-format=\"auto\" data-ad-client=\"ca-pub-1895512242384960\" data-adsbygoogle-status=\"done\" data-ad-status=\"unfilled\"><\/p>\n<div id=\"aswift_3_host\"><\/div>\n<p><\/ins><\/div>\n<p>Virginia is survived by her sons, Patrick, Edward Jr., George, Richard, Brian and Joseph, and daughters Ellen, Mary and Anne.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>&nbsp; &nbsp; Chicago Bears owner Virginia McCaskey has died at the age of 102, the team announced Thursday.
